what presidential candidates have you voted for who WON?
For me, only Jimmy Carter.

Didn't vote for Clinton either time, write-in candidate and NYS so it didn't matter.

Looking forward to voting for our winning candidate this year! :headbang:

My one time crossing the line was in '80 when I voted for Anderson. I don't know what I was thinking.

In fact, I regretted all my votes. I just want to keep Republicans from power.

11. Nobody...
Turned 18 in '96, but didn't bother voting. Politics didn't interest me at the time.

I have the singularly unpleasant stigma of being a Florida voter who didn't bother to vote in 2000, and I've been trying hard to atone for it ever since...

13. None.
In my early days, I was an idiot. In my later votes, I was an idealist.

But I might be able to stay an idealist AND vote for the winner this year. :-)

15. I've always lost the primary.
1988 Jackson
1992 Tsongas
2004 Clark
2008 abstained

But Clinton is my only GE winner unless you count Gore.

I voted for Jimmy Carter. That was my first vote for a presidential candidate. After that, I abstained. I was living in solid red states and politics sucked. But I did vote for Ann Richards during the time I lived in Texas.

Then I voted against bush in 2004.

And that's the end of that.

ETA: Richards for governor of course, but should have been for president. :)

22. Only Carter & Clinton. Republicans have had a strangle-hold on the presidency for most of 40 years!
Edited on Fri Jun-06-08 02:45 PM by LaPera
Since 1968 ...the republicans trashed the shit out of Cater and Clinton as well...only Clinton, the moderate at best, was a great politician and able to fend the republicans off with a strong economy...Fucking republicans crippling the country for 2 1/2 years, spending tens of millions of dollars over a blow job between two consenting adults (none of their fucking business)....The slimy republicans will do anything to further their corporate imperialist, fascist ideology & agenda.

23. One
The 96 election was the first I could vote in and the only time I voted for the winner. Which didn't really feel like much since he was a popular incumbent and was obviously going to win. I've been aware of politics since I was a kid though so I'm used to the feeling of being a Democratic loser. I vividly remember my parents working for the Mondale and Dukakis campaigns while all of my friends parents were huge Reagan fans. I always thought it must feel nice to support the winner.
