water - warmed of course. I have seen many babies today who suffer from constipation that could use more water. What did the old man suggest?

Sugar water, yes. Plain water, no. Just three ounces of water can kill a baby, same as chugging water killed that woman in the radio contest. Lesson here: McCain should not be left in charge of infants. Or anyone else.
