The ONLY reason McCain is even CLOSE is because voters don't yet know he's NOT the McCain of 2000!
Once Obama is able to turn his full attention on McCain, and once the voters learn that McCain now embraces the likes of Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson, and said he'll appoint judges like Alito and Scalia, no WAY will voters go for McCain. His approval numbers will sink like a rock. So for all the Hillary supporters trumpeting how Obama is so weak against McCain, don't get your hopes up that the SDs are buying that argument. It's time to get on the side of the DEM. nominee!

16. It sure would! They'd have to cut it way down for tv, though...
which is too bad, since the video shows us everything we need to see and show others!

10. Actually...that may change w/in the next 5 hours...
McCain has nothing this is already apparent, but once he's actually held to account, the entire nation will see little more than a babbling fool filled w/nothing more than idiotic jingoisms.

3. Unlike BO and his lunatic mysogynist racist spirutal advisors, Mccain
really has no real identity with any religious order, which is why the extreme right has some problems with him.

Enjoy your extreme left festivities of hate while they last.

5. Huh? Our "extreme left festivities of hate"? Are you a Dem.? McCain will appoint extreme
RWers to the SC who will try to outlaw abortion and gay marriage among other things. If that's ok with you, you don't belong here.

14. Kelly O'Donnell on MSNBC (she's covering the McCain campaign)
Edited on Tue Jun-03-08 11:33 AM by ErinBerin84
said that McCain is set to give a speech at 9 in louisiana attacking Obama (well, "defining what the general election would be about, but Kelly said "trying to steal some of the thunder from Obama", so I assume it will be a lot of that. Good luck, McSame. We are going to make your life a living hell now that we can set our sights on you. Fuck this McMaverick bullshit).

20. Exactly. Kerry didn't even flip-flop-he just voted yes on one version of a bill and no on the
second version. McCain has flip-flopped on so many issues, it'll be ridiculously obvious very soon who the winner of the GE will be:

22. I submit that there are two additional reasons:
1. Hillary is still in the race and doesn't appear to be conceding tonight. She will "suspend" then attack Obama from the sidelines, weakening him so much that she can fight at the convention and make a case for either the nomination or the VP spot.

2. Because people do not yet know Obama. He has been embroiled in the primary. The more people get to know him, the higher his numbers rise. The more people get to know McSame, the lower his numbers decline.

THAT'S WHY McSAME IS CLOSE!!

25. I agree. McCain more or less just skated to the nomination. I suspect the GOP
know they are toast this cycle and put him up as the sacrificial pig. The guy is a gaffe-o-matic. The contrast with Obama is going to be even more stark than it was between Dole and B. Clinton.

No one over there really wants him to. They are banking on a 2010 recovery, first in congress and then in oval office in 2012. It won't happen because there is nothing more dangerous than a repug banker.

He's been riding this image of him as a "maverick" Republican. Just wait until we really start picking him apart.
