I saw Claire Mccaskill last night at the TN Jackson day event in Nashville

You MO folks are lucky to have her as your senator. She spoke after Gov. Bredesen and fired up the crowd. She's awesome - a woman unseating a sitting Senator in a mostly red state. Strong stuff.

8. I think an ideological compliment is better than a fit. So long as Stickland isn't a pro-war, inside

the beltway, "change is bad/status quo is good" zombie, he'd be great and his belief in a broader health care plan than Obama's would be a nice quality -- health care is the one area where Obama needs help.

I'm glad you think Strickland would be an anti-poverty candidate; maybe we can get a real strong Democrat to rollback the pro-poverty/anti-welfare legislation of the 1990s!

4. She has come a long way

I was a skeptic. She is a little rough around the edges when you talk to her one on one.
State politics requires more personal interaction in a state like MO.
The national stage is a good place for her.
