Dear Kerry '04 Campaign Staff,
This writer makes good points and offers constructive suggestions, imo. I don't have links for the spokespersons appearances, but I've noticed the same lack of compelling responses, by some, that he notes.

snip>
You are trying to get a man elected to the most powerful office in the world. You are running against liars and thieves who have a coordinated smear apparatus with branches throughout the national media. You have the example of the 2000 campaign, and indeed the entire Clinton presidency, to learn how this apparatus operates.

You know this. So why in God's name am I seeing interview clips that involve your spokespeople beginning sentences by stuttering, looking nonplussed, and saying things like "I believe" and "That's not entirely correct"?....
...
You have the unique opportunity of seeing the other side's talking points at least a day or two before they go into effect nationwide. How? Read their freakin' blogs. Hell, you'd be infinitely more prepared for this crap if you just read the goddamn InstaPundit...
...
There's only one way to deal with this: every lie, distortion, and false charge needs to be crushed, immediately and irrefutably, to the point where journalists will be mocked for repeating them.....

1. Couldn't agree more
Momentum is so important. Gallup/USA Today polling may not be a fluke.

3. Yes, that was great coverage in the local markets
In fact, I posted that very article in LBN. But there is room for improvement in media appearances.

I don't know what "WWF" means

5. Ah, I see. Thanks
That is the way they behave on the cable gab-fests.

Those shows are, however, a part of the media food chain. During Clinton, Drudge would lie, cable picked it up and before you knew it, the WP, NYT, and WSJ fought for whispers of scraps on the way to the networks.

If the resourses exist, there's no good reason not to strive for excellence on all fronts.

8. Give him time
Kerry is playing his cards very well. he is biding his time. his place in the polls is just where he wants to be right now, any major anti-bush attacks will soon have their effects washed away by the GOP convention. just give him time. watch him surge in the polls in september; while allowing bush to look silly struggling to catch him. suddenly bush will be the underdog, and karl rove will play this up as much as he can, but will fail as kerry continues to ride bush'd failures to the white house.
remember, the dems know the value of an october surprise, too.
