AP: Clinton expects superdelegates to decide next week
Edited on Fri May-30-08 03:38 PM by SemiCharmedQuark
HELENA, Mont. - Hillary Rodham Clinton says she expects her marathon Democratic race against Barack Obama to be resolved next week. In a conference call with Montana reporters, Clinton said Friday: "I think that after the final primaries, people are going to start making up their minds. I think that is the natural progression that one would expect."

Montana and South Dakota hold the final primaries Tuesday.

Clinton says superdelegates will have to decide who is the stronger candidate in the fall.

Clinton said, "I think that people will have to ask themselves those questions, who would be the best president in terms of preparation and readiness and effectiveness, and who would be the stronger candidate."

So Clinton doesn't want to take it to the convention?

27. She also said she would support anyone who wanted to take any dispute to the credentials committee.
This caveat came right after the first information crossed the wire on MSNBC and was duly reported.

2. "So Clinton doesn't want to take it to the convention." Oh lordy, I sure hope so.
I can't imagine that there haven't been any number of Dem heavyweights letting her know that any "taking it to the convention" nonsense is just not going to fly.

I hope.

Peace,
sw

18. Her arguments are falling on deaf ears ...
Supers already can see who the stronger candidate is -- the
stronger candidate is the one who has MORE SUPPORT FROM THE
PEOPLE, and that candidate is not (despite her crazy "popular
vote" claims) HRC.

Edited on Fri May-30-08 04:42 PM by LSparkle
I'm fine with her becoming the Mike Huckabee of our race.
She can stay in this until the last fucking dog dies, but
if she continues to try and denigrate the LEGITIMATE NOMINEE
she has to expect to be pilloried.

At least Huckabee conducted his campaign without going
after Bomb Bomb. Unfortunately, we can't expect HRC to
behave with such CLASS if she chooses to take this to
the convention.

and readiness and effectiveness and who would be the stronger candidate?" and they will go overwhelmingly for Obama.

13. Hillary would be best in terms of Preparation H

FYI, she said people are going to start making up their minds. She said nothing about when that would end, or how far she was prepared to take the battle over Florida and Michigan.

14. That's a positive
It's an indicator that she'll accept the will of the delegates and superdelegates, if that's what they decide. I'd say the odds of a floor fight decreased dramatically. I think someone's been talking to her about that.

15. She is bipolar. Come Wednesday ...
she will be talking a whole different story. The only way Hillary Clinton utters those words is if she believes she will be the recipient of a wave of support on Wednesday.

She was evidently manically delusional today when she made that statement. Somebody needs to check her meds. And get ready for the depressive Hillary that is just around the corner.

17. I thought it was the voters who were supposed to decide?
Which is it Hillary? The voters/caucusers or the superdelegates? If the superdelegates adhere to the party ideals of respecting the vote, wouldn't it be the worst kind of moral defect to select a candidate against the will of the people?

She lost my vote when she started talking out both sides of her mouth.

24. I felt insulted when she discussed the SDS at the Tavis Smiley Forum in N.O.
She was talking about how voters only see the candidates "from a
distance" while the superdelegates (and now we see why they've
been called that) get to deal with the candidates "from a more
intimate perspective" (or words to that effect). She was much
more complimentary and respectful of the SDs and their oh-so-
valuable insights, as opposed to us lowly voters ... We uninformed,
easily-misled, simple-minded voters. I think I actually threw
a toy at the TV that afternoon I was so angered by her attitude ...

Its always possible that the end is in sight. I truly hope so. I'm going to wait and see though. I've already made two "Hillary is acting cool now" threads, only to be proven wrong.
