For all her whining about FL and MI, Hillary doesn't mind disenfranchising me
I live in Minnesota, a caucus state. Hillary says we don't count. She may not like caucuses, but I couldn't vote in anything else. No primary. So I voted in the caucus. Now Hillary says that delegates from caucuses and the popular vote need to be completely ignored, though it's perfectly and 100% fair to count a race where Obama wasn't on the ballot and even she said wouldn't count for anything. But all voters in caucus states should be ignored and have the superdelegates ignore our results and overrule the pledged delegates.

Luckily, that's not going to happen.

1. She doesn't mind disenfranchising me either.
I live in Washington, and while we also have a primary, our delegates are chosen based on the results of our caucuses.

Gotta love that kind of "logic".

We don't count I guess, even though our state followed the rules.

32. Nanny-nanny-poo-poo. My state counts (California)...
because the majority of Democrats voted for Hillary.

Of course, if the primary would have been held at the time it is traditionlly held, much later, the majority would have gone for Obama.

I feel soiled because Hillary says my state counts. I may move to Minnesota.

4. If it was up to her, she'd disenfranchise everyone who didn't vote for her. She's made that clear.
Whatever respect she may have once been due has long since
been pissed on and ground into the mud. By Hillary herself.

5. I don't think she's trying to make sense at this point.
It's like playing someone at a game of chess who insists on moving his king to every square over and over again trying to find a way out when you declare checkmate.

6. CAUCUS STATES put a giant monkeywrench in her popular vote argument.
Which is why DELEGATE COUNT is THE only metric that counts per DNC rules.

Amen and amen. :D

18. Of course we don't count
We voted 2-1 for Obama. I think it's funny-we don't have a real caucus, the ballots were cast as they would have been in a regular primary. Of course, we are still one of the "dreaded" caucus states.

Its also interesting that I grew up in an area where the only diversity was the few Lutherans in a heavily Catholic area. Those hard working white people voted primarily for Obama.

24. Sometimes the irony impairment around here amazes even me
Caucuses by their very nature disenfranchise close to 90% of the states citizens!

Not only that, but they provide a skewed (and as we saw in Texas) false impression of the will of the electorate at large.

In a rational democracy, caucuses would count as nothing more than beauty contest- but of course, America in NOT a rational democracy.

30. Are we a representative
government or not? Those 90% of voters you say are disenfranchised - why do they do it to themselves? If they don't like caucuses, they should ask the state party for primaries instead. If they don't care, why do you? All the states should do it the same way if you ask me, but the candidates ran their campaigns to take advantage of the system in each state (except Hillary did not have the foresight to do so, I guess). If you could convince me that no one knew the rules before the primary season started, you might have a point. Even I knew the rules, so I sure hope the Clintons did.

31. The rules are what they are- and they're irrational
even in a representative democracy.

I could care less about Clinton or the current squabble- and I didn't mention an outcome one way or another in my post for precisely that reason.

My point was that someone's claiming to be "disenfranchised" because some seem to belittle a process that actively disenfranchises the vast majority of folks in her own state!

Not to mention dispenses with the secret ballot- which is another issue.

34. I don't think many here
actually like the caucus system. I'll bet that 99.99% of us would love to see a real democracy, one person, one vote, for every election, primary and general. The rules may BE irrational, but, the point is, they are legal AND they were known before the fact.

26. Obama didn't mind gaming the caucuses. That's the only reason he's still around.
There are numerous websites detailing how Obama's campaign gamed the early caucuses. I have heard stories from numerous Hillary supporters about how they were screwed.

Obama's candidacy is completely bogus. He will lose the GE and seriously damage, or reverse, our gains in Congress.
