I wish someone would ask Bush that. For one thing, not pardoning someone in his administration who harmed national intelligence in time of war is the right thing to do. But also, by declaring that no pardons will be issued, Bush will help the investigation -- which he claims he wants to do.

Think about it. Right now, the administration leakers and the people who are possibly obstructing justice by protecting the leakers might believe they can count on a pardon. Therefore, they can lie to the grand jury with impunity.

This brings up an interesting point. Can Bush pardon himself if it is found that he knew of the leak and took an active part in it?
