...Then I Guess I'm A Hater
If exposing Hillary's racially divisive tactics makes me a Hillary Hater, then I guess I'm a Hater.
If showing the miserable failure of her campaign in all it's folly makes me a Hillary Hater, then I guess I'm a Hater.
If speaking the truth that Hillary can't win makes me a Hillary Hater, then I guess I'm a Hater.
If listing the ways that Hillary is trying to divide the party for no good reason but her own ambition makes me a Hillary Hater, then I guess I'm a Hater.
If calling out the errors in her supporters defensive arguments makes me a Hillary Hater, then I guess I'm a Hater.
If TYPING IN ALL CAPS WHEN I SAY GOBAMA makes me a Hillary Hater, then I guess I'm a Hater.

But just because you call me a hater doesn't make me a hater.

I am disappointed, disgusted and dismayed by Hillary's campaign and her supporters who would vote for McCain over Obama in the General Election. But that does not make me a hater, even if you call me one.

14. Bill started to irk me in January of '93
Although FAR better than any Republican alive, the Clintons have been one disappointment after another. From flubbing health care to the compromise of "don't ask, don't tell", through NAFTA and welfare reform, and on and on, there is not one expectation that they have not repeatedly lowered and lowered until is is only marginally better than the Republican position.

Of course, Bill did manage to balance the budget, and that was a BIG accomplishment. Accomplishment until you remember that until Nixon, it was common practice to submit a balanced budget, even during small wars.

They must think the sun shines out of your arse, Hillary.

6. Calling out injustice and being outraged...
Edited on Wed May-21-08 10:09 PM by TwoSparkles
...by unfair, perverse and manipulative political tactics---is decent and just.

When you do these things, it's usually the Republicans who throw out the old, "Oh, you're
just bitter and angry" line.

They do this to control criticism against their evil. They do it to blame the victim
and to take the spotlight from their own failings--and turn it back on the person
who courageously takes them to task.

Are we really that surprised that Hillary and her lemmings use this page from the Republican
playbook?

I bet Rove really taught her extra lessons on this tactic!

8. Stop this NOW!!! and BTW Obama 2008!!!
I get why Hillary's tactics have infuriated so many people but let me suggest something. We have won.

Even with divisive tactics, the support of the party establishment, her personal attacks, and her screaming sexism at the end, she still lost.

So can we at least be gracious in victory?

Because if we stoop to their level we are just as bad as them.

Hillary supporters are screaming that they will vote McCain in the general election but even that isn't working. The polls are still projecting that Obama would win if the election were held today.

So let's move on please, this sort of bitterness doesn't help the healing process, you want Obama to win right? Let's start taking the higher road now. We have a lot of work to do to win this election. If you haven't done so already, visit BarackObama.com and register to find out how you can help. And if you can spare the money, donate a couple of dollars.

13. There are far too many haters here among Obama supporters, and I'm saddened
to see Democrats showing so much pride in hatred.

Not all Obama supporters revel in hatred -- I believe the majority of his supporters are good people, rational people -- but some clearly enjoy hating Clinton, and it's disturbing to see it.

It's reminiscent of what Eric Hoffer had to say about the psychology of mass movements:

When we lose our individual independence in the incorporateness of a mass movement, we find a new freedom—freedom to hate, bully, lie, torture, murder and betray without shame and remorse.

The targeting of Hillary Clinton matches what Hoffer said about the need of a fanatic group to have a common foe, a "devil," with the hatred becoming a habit.

I have not seen similar hatred here of Obama among Hillary's supporters. They're not in love with him, but they don't hate him.

But in the messages about Hillary Clinton, we sometimes see even more virulent hatred than I can recall seeing expressed here toward Bush and Cheney.

And why? Because she's continuing her campaign, which is her right. Just as it was Teddy Kennedy's right in 1980.

But because you feel she threatens the leader of your mass movement, I've seen messages posted here by people saying a stake should be driven through her heart, or maybe it would take a silver bullet to finish her off. I saw her called a piece of shit in a pantsuit. I saw one paranoid message after another from people suggesting that if she were the VP, Obama would have to fear for his life.

I have never seen such insane hatred directed at any Democratic candidate by other Democrats.

I'm stunned and dismayed to see it here.

And I've been trying to understand what was going on...and then I remembered what Eric Hoffer wrote about true believers in mass movements.

Which, sadly, explains entirely too much.

I don't hate Obama and never will, no matter how disgusted I am by what many of his supporters here post. I'm not particularly impressed by him, but I don't hate him.

I wish more of you who claim to admire him would pay attention to his praise of Hillary Clinton and his request that you treat her supporters better.

Because I believe we will need a unity ticket to win.

At the very least, Obama is going to need the backing of Clinton and her supporters.

And all too many of you have worked yourself up into such an insane hatred of Clinton that I don't know how you're going to cope with the reality that this is a primary race -- not a holy way against Hillary Clinton -- and that without her help and her supporters' help, you won't win in November.

Honestly, some of you sound as though you'd be happy to lose in November, if you thought you could just get away with a mob attack on Hillary, and then dancing around bonfires waving pitchforks to celebrate your victory.

Berni, I haven't paid enough attention to your individual messages to know if you've been participating in what appears to be a continual verbal lynching of Clinton here.

So this is not directed at you in particular.

This is about the viciousness of many of the anti-Clinton messages posted here, and the joy many Obama supporters show expressing that hatred.

With her deceit, race and gender-baiting. She has done this to us, so your reverse psychology tactics won't work. No one is to blame but Hillary Rodham Clinton, her husband, their surrogates, and their enabling supporters who are so enamored with her that they closed their eyes to the truth that she is destroying the Democratic party.

15. Nothing happens over night
At first, Bill made me angry with his SC remarks. Then, her decline with me started when she said "He's not a Muslim, that I know of", & then the 3 AM ad, the scolding, the complaints about the 1st debate question, the reference to SNL (how high brow of her, the McCain being better bit. But the icing was when she told me that she could get my African American vote whenever she wanted it but that the only hard working Americans were white. And when she never apologized (only said she regretted saying it ), that doubled it. I would have had to really search my soul not only to have voted for her, but if she snatches the nomination now, I REALLY don't know, cause She will REALLY be on my sh-t list.........

Dear Baracktards:

Wallow in your Hillary-Hate all you want, and God knows you have flogged the "that I know of" line ad naseum, but when you change it, distort it, and then PUT IT IN QUOTES as if that was what Clinton actually said, you have completely left the orbit of rational behavior.

I cannot respect Obama because of his supporters. If you are that defective, there must be something wrong with him.

I cannot recall ever having seen you post something positive, in fact. You are one of the four or five most relentlessly negative posters I have seen in seven years on this site. I don't know how someone can maintain that kind of rage day in and day out, and I cannot fathom why anyone would be so proud of it.

But you clearly are proud of your status as a hater, so I lift my glass to you. Cheers! You truly have succeeded at something that is clearly important to you, and that does deserve some recognition.

43. And you are the cheerleader of whining.
Some people continue to equate criticism with hate, and even more bizarre, are taking it to the point where their notion manifests as hate directed at the critic. There are some who claim that criticism can become excessive and could turn off Hillary supporters, yet Hillary continues her divisive tactics, escalating her defiance. The notion is that no one should criticize Hillary for fear of angering her supporters. So let's see:

Hillary is stirring up anger directed at Obama among her supporters, but her critics primary concern should be to appease her supporters by not criticizing her.

Why should anyone be concerned that a Hillary supporter doesn't like an Obama supporter? This is about the candidates, not you or me. It's about their actions and words.

21. If arguing for a VP nominee OTHER than HRC makes one a hater, then I suppose I'd count as one ...
but I DO think that unnecessary even if true attacks on her and her campaign at this point don't help Obama. It IS however important that Obama pick the strongest possible VP nominee both for the presidency and for Nov. For this, I say a woman (preferably Sen Boxer, IMHO), or at least a strong candidate who never supported the Iraq War Resolution, and NOT HILLARY in any case. It is possible HRC might both desire and be able to force herself as the VP nominee, which could be just the tipping point to elect McCain with his hawk agenda.

(I want to say frankly that, for a Repug prez candidate, McCain is about as honorable as any we've had since Goldwater and Eisenhower, but his politics are still awful, and way oversold as "maverick")

50. Just wonderin' ...

51. LOL! It's looking that way.
I think Clinton truly underestimated the reaction she would get for her statements.

It definitely was a gambit... but she's going to pay a very expensive price for it.

47. "Thou shalt not question the antics of political hacks." It's in the Bible.
At least that's what some here seem to believe when their candidates motives, policies, votes, or idiotic remarks, i.e. "we will obliterate Iran", are questioned.

You're not a hater.

You just need Brownie Points from Camp O for starting yet another thread to keep the anti-Hillary threads going.

Pat yourself on the back, sweetie!

Hillary's antics have not gone unnoticed in the outside world. Given enough of this, she will make herself irrelavant.
