Why do you think Pat Buchanan is such a Hillary Fan?
Edited on Tue May-20-08 01:07 PM by Robyn66
I just find it interesting that all these Republican pund-idiots are hard core Hillary fans who screech into the wind that she is the Dems best chance in November. Isn't even the most rabid Hillary supporter just a teeny tiny bit suspicious about that? Especially because for YEARS people like Buchanan and Carlson have been talking about Hillary being THEIR DREAM candidate because of her ability to unify the Republican party. Do you think Karl Rove might be devious enough to provide her campaign with a map that would indicate that she would be the better candidate in an attempt to have the DNC somehow choose her over Obama? Just a couple of thoughts I was having today.

BTW, in case anyone missed it :sarcasm:

8. Pat Buchanan LOVES politiacal drama & theater...
It's his favorite sport.

He loves that Hillary hasn't gone meekly to the sidelines, he respects and admires her for that.

Would he EVER vote for her???? Not in a million years.

He's a fan of chaos within the Democratic Party.

Come on, guys ... does anyone REALLY think the likes of PAT BUCHANAN will be cheerleading for Hillary Clinton in a general election against JOHN McCAIN?

Ain't.

Gonna.

Happen.

21. Dude Ain't Supportin' Hillary In The General.
First of all, she won't be the nominee, so the point is moot.

Secondly, he's not going to support ANY Democrat, least of all a WOMAN, in any general election. Even if Satan himself ran as a Republican. This is how a mind like Buchanan's works. The only thing saving Hillary now is the fact that she's white, and she's behind.

in Syria, Iran, etc. But when it comes down to it, I think you're right. If he had the choice between Hillary and a Republican, unless the Republican was Bush Jr, he would revert to voting Republican.

Bob Shrum said that Pat told him, off the air, that a woman came up to him ( Pat) in an airport and said "I want to thank you so much for defending Hillary Clinton", and Pat kept walking and ignored the woman, because he couldn't face her with a straight face.

All Republicans know they need to run against Hillary, which is why Limbaugh, Buchanan and Scarborough all are pushing Hillary. They are gleeful watching her go on. They're all GOP errand boys.

35. They can't use their 'women's place is subservient to the man' meme
if Obama is the candidate. That's what they'd pull right out of their backsides the minute she were to become the nominee. They'd start on about how the Bible says that women are to revere and follow the man's lead. The man is to support and protect the women. Think anything that's ever been said at a PromiseKeeper's rally would be repeated on Fox 24/7.

Can't do that with male opposition.

36. One Of Three Reasons.......
1. Because the Repugs know they won't be able to beat Obama and Hilliary is beatable; they probably got a dossier on her that's a mile long; plenty of ways to throw out negative vibes about her to sway the voting public.

2. Because the Repugs are really afraid of the change that will come to Washington D.C. with an Obama presidency; there will be a real cleansing and it scares them; they are more comfortable with Hilliary if she would win because D.C. wouldn't change quite as much - as she represents 'old politics' to them; they see the following that Obama has; the donors like you and me; the crowds that assemble to hear him - and they sense a watershed change in D.C. for years to come; for the American people it will be good; for 'old pols' of the Buchanan ilk - it's devastating.

3. Because Buchanan is essentially a racist and sexist pig - but it's easier for him to accept a white woman over a black man.

Pick the one that you think best fits - but - there is probably a bit of all three in his thinking.

37. Because she's white
It's nothing to do with Hillary, Pat probably has palpitations at the thought of a woman in the Whitehouse but the idea of a black man in there terrifies him even more.
