1000 troop casualties around the time of the RNC?
This is a sad possibility. I posted this a few days ago, but now it seems even more possible, because of the renewed fighting in Fallujah, Najaf and Baghdad. I also have a lot of concerns about the ban on Al Jazeera broadcasting from Iraq in the month prior to the RNC.

The media is currently ignoring troop deaths, however, benchmark numbers always seem to get their attention. What else will the BFEE do to spin the potentially devastating news coming out of Iraq during the time around the RNC?

This is most cold hearted and cynical group of politicians I've seen my lifetime..MKJ

1. It could be 2000 and nobody will know or care except the families of those
dead and wounded. The Iraq war has disappeard from the media.

4. another "TET" style offensive could stop all this
I disagree, if the Iraqi people are smart they would know that "the Warmongers" could be defeated with a "TET" style offensive like in Veitnam. If they could pull off this it would be all over for chimpy and his WARNMONGERs in November.

Even repukes would turn on chimpy

6. Doubtful at current pace
Maybe just before the November election, actually, if the current pace keeps up. It'd be a sad milestone, but maybe it'd wake up the public. :-(
