46. Kerry's been calling in to shows since this morning - they are getting Obama's back on this
and Kerry heads the senate committee that deals with Iran policy.

Bush attacked Kerry in 2003-4 on this same matter of engaging Iran, and that was with a fairly moderate leader in Iran.

Obama is going to be fine with Biden and Kerry representing him on these battles.

40. He probably doesn't even know his position
and how it's insane to deny it. His remarks were purely political and he knows it, otherwise he would've said it with passion and not had a speech writer trump up some garbage to hurl at Obama which in no way benefits him. It's so disgusting how they can paint a U.S.Senator as unpatriotic. If he's so unpatriotic and a sleeper muslim terrorist or sympathizer, why in the hell hasn't our FBI investigated him and thrown him out of the Senate. They can't even see how that makes absolutely no sense.

54. LOL - His Wikipedia entry already has today's MSNBC exchange up:
Edited on Thu May-15-08 05:45 PM by JBoy
On May 15, 2008, James appeared on Hardball debating with host Chris Mathews and supporting the remarks made by President of the United States George W. Bush's May 15, 2008 speech to the knesset in Israel, where Bush implied that there was a connection between the appeasement towards Hitler to the policies of leading Democratic Presidential Candidate Barack Obama, in reference to Obama expressing a willingness to meet with the leaders of US adversaries. James appeared to fail miserably at the questions asked. Although claiming to reiterate what Bush said, he said " he did not know" what appeasment meant, or who Neville Chamberlain was, leading Mathews to state: "if you don't know what appeasment is about then don't talk about it." It appeared to be a rather embarassing episode for James on live national T.V. The episode continued on for about 10 minutes.

Kevin James was badly humiliated when he accused Democratic Presidential Candidate Barack Obama of being an "appeaser", drawing a parallel to England's Pre-World War II Conservative Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain. For a full 5 minutes, host Chris Matthews demanded that James explain his definition of "appeaser", and what allegedly makes the United States Senator from Illinois Barack Obama an "appeaser". Kevin James was unable to do so, prompting Matthews to declare the Kevin James "doesn't know what (he's) talking about." James continued to insist, in a loud, high-pitched voice, to insist Obama was an "appeaser" without explaining nor defining. Fellow guest Mark J. Green of Air America radio was clearly embarrassed for Kevin James' glaring incompetence, and urged James to stop digging himself further into a hole. Matthews was clearly disappointed in his guest, and explained the difference between historical appeasers like the conservative Neville Chamberlain (who handed Czechoslovakia to Hitler) and modern leaders like Barack Obama who favor negotiation. Matthews accused James of being a "blank slate", who doesn't know anything about history, much like White House spokesman Dana Perino, who in a public appearance had no idea what the Cuban Missile Crisis was.

48. There's been a sea change. On Huffpo I notice all the quotes from dem leaders
are unusually harsh and derisive (but honest and deserved, IMO). I think open season has been declared on Bush and McCain. I don't know why Reid, Pelosi, Begala, et al have pulled punches for the last 5 years but they have. Now the words are much sharper.

I hope they can continue bring the harshness in talking about the dozens and dozens of past misdeeds, not just the current one. Let's revisit the crimes and immoral behavior and make one strong case against Bush and those GOPrs and pundits that enabled him. Let's not forget last week's disaster just because a new one comes along. Let's be open and honest about how absolutely terrible this administration has been in every policy area.

59. More evidence of sea change: War funding stopped in the House. I'm happy but at the
same time perplexed why dc dems couldn't have stepped up earlier. Are they able to resist now because the political middle road was necessary to consolidate power and set up elections in November? Did some grand Reid/Pelosi scheme, perplexing at times, actually work out the only way it could have?

Another tidbit: Conyers vowing to kick Rove's ass!

Seems there's been some secret dog whistle signal that is allowing this pent up dem outrage and karma to release?

Or....(I'll save the wet blanket posts for another day...let's enjoy this one)
