The Anti-Kerry Ad Has Brought Out The Trolls..
Edited on Sat Aug-07-04 06:31 AM by DemocratSinceBirth
I am not being conceited but we all know that the average DUer is smarter than the average Freeper...

The freepers are coming here with their "sky is falling" routine and attributing the falling sky to the latest anti Kerry ad by the anti Kerry swift boat veterans....

I digress but many wingnuts questioned John Kennedy's heroics in PT 109.... They contended that the other JFK ( -:) ) caused the attack on his PT boat by not turning off the engine as it waded....
This didn't stop Hollywood from making a moving celebrating the young lieutenant's heroics....

I am seeing posts that the poster's mother, father, coworker, boyfriend, fill in the blank will not support Kerry because of the anti Kerry swift boat ad.... What a crock of shit... These people were never going to support Kerry anyway and these Freeper trolls are vainly trying to demoralise us...

You can not demoralise a Democrat Since Birth...

Peace

Brian

2. It's Like The Allegations Against The Clintons...
It rallies the faiftful but ultimately turns off folks in the middle.....

It's like the accusations against Arnold... I am sure some of them were probably true but the people who were making them were made to look small...

3. We should find those

That's the perfect response to this, they did the same thing to Kennedy. Where would we start looking? The National Archives site?

4. Type In JFK and PT 109
It's an old and pretty widely circulated story by JFK detractors that JFK was careless or reckless in getting his PT boat cut in half by a Japanese destroyer.... The claim is that he left the engine of his PT boat on while it was wading allowing it be detected by the Japanese.....

Never mind that Kennedy helped his men swim to shore while nursing a broken back and actually had his father pull strings to get him into the Navy because his health made him physically unfit for service...

Also, the man he was running against, Richard Nixon was another Navy lieutenant who never got anywhere near battle...

I'm not a Navy guy but I think it's Navy protocol to turn off your engine on that type of boat to avoid detection but this policy was created after the fact...

5. Agree it's a bunch of hooey
Guaranteed, the people who believe these swiftboat guys are already planning to vote for *. The rest of us couldn't care less about all the details of Kerry's service just like they don't seem to care that W was AWOL.

6. Doesn't it go against their "support the troops" slogans?
I mean, any young man or woman serving today can easily be attacked as "opportunistic," as a "liar," as undeserving of any recognition received, and have any of the events they're facing right now twisted around 30+ years from now -- but only IF they decide to seek office as a Democrat.

Then they get what Kerry and Clark and Kennedy have gotten. It's worse than despicable.

8. Who Knows What Happens In The Fog Of War
Most folks just want to come home in one piece but there are folks who actually set out to become heroes.....
