Edwards Suppoters Who Went To Hillary... What Say You ???
Look, if you are still digesting this, I understand. No need to reply.

What I am interested in, is how quickly your guy, and BTW... MY GUY TOO...

got tossed into the wood chipper.

Any thoughts out there???

8. C'mon saracat
You are one of the kindest, most generous, sweetest posters on DU. It stings a little... I think avatars are off right now but I know you've always sported one of Elizabeth (who quite obviously didn't appear with John tonight).

Give it a few days, but please come back to the fold. If people are nasty or stupid or rude to you, take their name and I'll kick their ass personally for you. :-)

Eyes on the Prize or it's President McSame in November. We need every last vote. Every. Single. One. And I hope you'll watch John's speech and listen carefully and take his words to heart. He is speaking to you.

done is done. John brought me back from cynicism and it was only thrown in my face.I chnaged my avatar today and it hurt to do so but done is done.I will always believe in what john said he stood for but I will never believe in a politician again. I doubt i will vote in a GE again but one never knows.

33. I'm a little disappointed too.
I had hoped that healthcare was a bigger issue to him than the electoral calculus. I suppose there's an argument to be made that being on the side that's winning is best for his poverty/healthcare goals.

I still think he's the best our party has to offer.

And that "Cracker Coalition" gave 8% of their vote to Edwards ! At least they weren't mindless automatons voting the MSM entrenched way and even the university towns didn't go for the big O ! For the record I thought he would have the integrity to say "out" of this but it appears everyone has their price and I am very disheartened. He smacked his WV supporters in the face. Whatever. But live and learn. I won't make another mistake. BTW, Isn't the term "cracker coalition " racist?

Because I feel no different about John Edwards today than I did yesterday. I plan to defend him as well against anyone who wants to bash him because he exercised his right as an American citizen to back a political candidate.

13. I'm an Edwards supporter who went over to Obama
At the time, it was supposed by the media that Edwards dropping out really helped Clinton. Most of the folks in my area went over to Obama.

Anyway, my two cents: Edwards has done the math. What percentage of remaining delegates would he have had to win to get the nomination when he dropped out? I dunno, but it's way, way lower than what Clinton must win today.

Back when he was still in the race, I was mad at Obama for taking, as I saw it, votes away from my candidate. Today I'm proud of John Edwards for making the same choice I did some months ago: he's helping to unite the party.

27. As a Kucinich to Edwards(briefly) to Biden to Hillary supporter.
I've got to say that there was always a bus waiting for John Edwards. He couldn't avoid it, no matter what he did.

Support Obama? Under Hillary's bus with him!

Had he supported Hillary? Under Obama's bus with him!

I mean he's already been under everyone's bus already for not endorsing anybody. It's got to be a relief to have at least one of those buses removed!

Another day, another politician making his move on the big chessboard to position himself for the endgame. Not condeming him, not endorsing him. It's his right to make his own choice.

My feeling is that his endorsement would have been better served much earlier.

31. I still admire Edwards. And I remember Obama fans complaining when he
said earlier he wouldn't endorse anyone.

You think Obama supporters haven't tossed former heroes into the wood chipper if those heroes supported Hillary? The same people who've been outraged if Hillary supporters didn't like some things Olbermann said had no problem throwing Krugman under the bus when they disagreed with him, no matter how much they'd admired him before that.

As I've said here earlier, I'd've been happiest if Al Gore would have run. He didn't, and Edwards was my first choice of the candidates. After he dropped out, I felt Hillary was the stronger candidate for the general election, and I still feel that way.

But I'll vote for Obama.

And I'm hoping that Edwards' decision to endorse Obama is part of a plan to arrange a unity ticket, Obama/Clinton.

43. My feelings
We are seeing the Zell Miller Democrats voting for Hillary and who will be voting GOP in the GE. This would also explain why there is such a high percentage over Obama that say they wouldn't vote for the opposing candidate.
Many here have said have that there is a certain percentage of Clinton supporters that are pretty nasty. Which could be the Zell Miller's. So I say, don't let them sway what you feel inside.

Unlike some folk here, I actually PAY ATTENTION to facts. Barack Obama said he didn't want our Democratic Party to act like the Democratic Party of the 1990's, and the TURNED AROUND AND ACTED LIKE A REPUBLICAN from the 1990's by sending out HTEIR hatchet job on Hillary's superior (yeah, I said superior) health care plan.

So people are entitled to their own opinions, but they are not entitled to their own facts.
