Edwards to Endorse Obama Tonight at 7 P.M.?
Obama Campaign Touts Big Endorsement
14 May 2008 02:58 pm
A big national endorsement that Obama will unveil at 7pm ET tonight.... a conspicuous Clinton deserter, perhaps? I don't know.

Ready to Choose?
Ready to hope?

Just speculating based on these two pieces. I think it is way to late for it to matter at all. Interesting all the same.

6. If it's Edwards that would be big but it's a shame he didnt' do so before PA and WVA
because I believe his campaiging with Obama side by side would have helped with the blue collar vote, but, Oh, well--if it is him I'd appreciate his support anyway because I likes him a lot.

27. My Theory Is Edwards Wanted Obama To Get The Nod W/O His Endorsement
So the Clinton Camp would not claim some sort of coat-tail victory for Obama. Now that it is clear Obama is the nominee Edwards can show his support and let Obama shine.

96. It seems to me that real feminists seem to like to think
for *themselves*. I'm not going to support any candidate based on gender or anything else as simplistic as that. I admire Senator Clinton, but her campaign has really turned me off. And as you probably remember from our Deaniac days, I remember the rise of Obama quite well. This is really inspirational and fascinating, isn't it?

I have exactly one woman friend who voted for Clinton in our NM primary, and she says she'll be happy if Obama is the nominee.

And as I said on another thread, if you make the connections between the (bad) economy in Grand Rapids and John's Two Americas platform, the location for this meeting--whatever it may entail--is very interesting indeed.

This is going to be such a letdown now! I think the only ones who would really be worth any hype are Gore or Edwards, and I doubt it will be either of them (not saying there aren't other very helpful groups/individuals who would make amazing endorsements. I guess just in terms of "media hype").

Oh well. The "wait for an endorsement" game is still fun.

edited to add: I would be very excited about a Biden endorsement, but I still feel like it's going to be someone more random.

like Biden or Wyden (I do not think he has endorsed anybody), or a head of an union?

Anyway, I do not trust Halperin. He has been annoucing Edwards's endorsement at least 3 times yet,so, if he is right, it will be mere luck!

61. On his last round of TV shows ...
... Edwards hinted that he'd be announcing soon. So yeah, this could be it.

And wouldn't it be nice, if Obama turns right around and announces John Edwards as his VP choice !?!

Who says I can't dream !!

see ya Hillary

66. Edwards will make a far better attorney general than he would a VP
My gut feeling is that is also how John is looking at it. A vice president has no legal authority to go after corporate criminals, but the AG does.

84.  I don't think he's made some oath not to endorse, and he's been
clear that he'll support the nominee. It's now plain that Obama is going to be the nominee, so it would hardly be going back on his word.

My money's still on Edwards though.

I wonder if he was holding out for something that his 7% in WV might have finally gotten him?

Edwards holds off endorsing. Why?

He gets 7% in WV and now it looks like he'll endorse.

What was he holding out for?

108. Because he has no leadership abilities.
He sticks his finger in the wind to see the way the winds are blowing and then makes a decision - or takes one... I don't think he makes them.

That's the main reason I don't like him.
