I understand that this President stuff is all Michelle's doing. Like my wife wanting me to take up Bridge.

7. Does Obama plan to take his name off the ballot in the GE
when it looks like he's going to lose a given state? Then he can claim the state shouldn't count because his name wasn't on the ballot.

17. again...
:wtf: Even the truly delusional do not think it was a stunt, unless it was a conspiracy between Obama, Edwards and Richardson...

From NBC’s Domenico Montanaro
Obama, Edwards and Richardson have all filed paperwork to withdraw their names from the Michigan ballot, the Detroit Free Press reports. Obama and Edwards filed paperwork today to do so and Richardson sent a letter yesterday requesting the same.

Michigan Democrats violated the so-called Feb. 5 pre-window, moving their primary to Jan. 15. But the Democratic National Committee only sanctioned four states to be inside that date – Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada.

22. It was a show of unity for the party...
"There’s the fact that Hillary Clinton’s name and the uncommitted slate was the only thing that was on the ballot in Michigan because the Democratic National Committee asked the other candidates to withdraw their names from the ballot. So, here you have the institution itself asking people to pull their names off the ballot.

All of them, yes. That’s what--I don’t know what I just said-But, OK, that’s what I thought I said.

In any event, and you also have the uncommitted slate on the ballot—you have an uncommitted slate on the ballot and, you know, one of the proposals that came forward that I’ve seen is: Why not give half of the delegation to Clinton and half of it to Obama and that way it won’t make any difference and people can be seated. Well, what do you do with the fact that there was an uncommitted delegation that got votes and is entitled to delegates? I think that one is a whole big mess.

24. A "stunt" that was also pulled by Biden, Edwards, and Richardson
and that Kucinich tried to pull. (link) Both Gore and Bradley pulled the same "stunt" in 2000. (link)

Here's why he couldn't take his name off the ballot in florida:

A candidate's name shall be printed on the Presidential Preference Primary ballot unless the candidate submits an affidavit to the Department of State on or before November 12, 2007 stating that he or she is not now, and does not presently intend to become, a candidate for President at the upcoming nominating convention.

27. Why didn't he take his name off in Florida?
Simple answer: Florida rules require a candidate to *drop out* entirely to have their name removed.

Obama didn't feel like ending his whole campaign simply to appease their messed up non-election.
