As a new Obama supporter, I'm finding the IGNORE function a WONDERFUL feature!

I've been here over 4 years reading and supporting Dems...

I just started supporting Obama last week.


I now see how helpful the ignore is...

I've put 2 Obama fans who HATE Hillary supporters on ignore.. and... IT FELT GOOD!


When I put the crazies on ignore, this place is so much better! 2 so far.. let's see how many more I can get (I hope NONE).

By the way, I see "IGNORE" all the time on the Hillary bashing threads. Looks like I have good judgement.

1. Just remember that folks who you are ingnoring can reply to you

but you cannot see them spout their crap nor can others who read it know that you are ignoring the crap spewers.

I've yet to get an answer to that question. Is putting people on ignore part of the UNITY CAMPAIGN? Putting people on ignore? Isn't that how bush got us into Iraq? outstanding judgement.

In that way, I guess he's putting us ALL on ignore. At some level you have to be able to sort among different voices, and decide that some are not worth listening to. That's why I don't go to Free Republic, or watch Fox News. :shrug:

Who, you might ask? People who post absolute crap with no link and no basis for their observations other than wild speculation. Then there are those that continuously post from r/w sites, seeming to claim those opinions are valid. Well, maybe to them they are, but not to me. I don't have to get annoyed by reading that shit, and don't. End of problem. If unity=not ignoring and responding, I've tried that and with some people it just doesn't work. Plus, it's a waste of time. So, there's your answer from me.

6. For me, it's part of my "sanity campaign".

I know there are a lot of DUer's who don't use ignore, but I'm not one of them. And ignoring a person who uses idiotic arguments, name calling, slurs, etc. is not the same as ignoring the issues. There are a lot of folks on DU with whom I don't agree, but I don't have them on ignore either, because they are arguing issues, not flinging poo.

2 people who I felt were devisive for the general election.


I'm sure that many people could say that I am devisive.. and that's fine.


We have to do what we can to make sure a Dem gets elected in November.

When I read someone's posts TIME AND TIME AGAIN (not one or 2 posts) and my blood boils, I figure it is better to put them on ignore.


In the past, I didn't "get" it. I thought we should hear all opinions on this board. I still feel that is true, as long as you can handle it. I've decided I can't handle some people. It's better for me to put them on ignore till November.


I love everyone who votes Dem... but I really don't think I can deal with everyone's opinions right now.

I'm a Clark supporter and I'm a democrat so despite the efforts of the nasty, hateful, ugly trashed dumped on DU by Obama supporters I will continue to loyally support my parties candidate. That really sucks for people like you huh!

You have never been on my ignore list. It was never a very big list, and several folks on the list eventually got TS'd. Geez, folks are getting really, really tense around here. Chill out for a bit. If Hillary had been the nominee, I would have supported and voted for her as well. But it's become fairly clear that she won't be the nominee. Some folks have yet to accept that reality.

Oh, and BTW, my top choice as Obama's VP is General Clark.
