GOP ratchets up against Obama
Incoming salvo number one. Time to lock and load! :)

It's clear whom Republicans believe they'll be facing this fall for president. The Republican National Committee today launched a new website inviting voters to raise questions about Barack Obama's positions and qualifications.

The site, similar to one that the Democratic National Committee has had for weeks about presumptive GOP nominee John McCain, features a video with foreboding music that tries to raise troubling questions.

Among them: Obama's "present" votes as an Illinois state senator on hot-button issues such as gun control, his spending proposals and how he plans to pay for them, his comments at a San Francisco fund-raiser about "bitter" small-town voters who "cling to guns or religion."

"Can we ask," the announcer begins each question, and each is followed by the ubiquitous chant from Obama rallies: "Yes we can."

For the final question, the announcer says, "On experience, can we ask ourselves if three years in the US Senate prepares Barack Obama to be our next commander in chief?" The video then shows Obama himself saying, "Yes we can."

"Barack Obama," the announcer concludes. "Soaring rhetoric, questions to answer."

1. Well that ones not going to work
Obama has shown little problem answering questions. Even uncomfortable ones. Next salvo please.

3. I found it interesting that they chose this line after it's failed for Clinton.
Not sure what they expected it from it. The raise taxes stuff is standard GOP campaigning, and I don't think that'll get much traction from that either.

Those Repubs are cute when they're young. :D

4. The RNC must be beside itself
They have been planning on running against Hillary for 4 years now, and now that has been taken away from them. They don't have too much time to plan.

6. They have nothing on Obama so they are going nuts for anything.

Obama Pastorgate PALES compared to McCain accepting endorsements from neocon pastors in my view.

That part alone will cost him a huge part of the vote.

Then his Bomb Bomb Iran and 100 year Iraq will cost him major parts of his main vote.

His Flip Flopping will do as much damage as the supposed damage it did to Kerry.

Many hard line Republicans hate him.

Ron Paul is like a HUGE political airbrake to his campaign taking away his netroots.

I give it perhaps 2 months if we work hard for victory before the republicans give up on McCain being president and focus reducing damage in the congressional races.

This is why Rush and the other idiots tried to stop Obama by supporting the sworn enemy of the republican party "Clinton" They know their faith in Bush is going to mean the worst defeat for Republicans in decades.

7. Speaking of Ron Paul...
Infighting rains on McCain's party
Diehard Paul supporters seek role at convention

Senator John McCain is sailing toward his coronation as the Republican presidential nominee while the Democratic candidates battle fiercely. But Republicans also are engaged in some tough infighting that could disrupt the national convention and make it more difficult for him to unite the party in the fall.

Across the country, at state and county GOP conventions, diehard supporters of maverick Ron Paul are staging uprisings in an effort to secure a role for Paul at the national convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul.

And in the four primaries since clinching the nomination in early March, McCain has yet to reach 80 percent of the vote, as Paul and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee continue to siphon away votes, even though Huckabee has withdrawn from the race.

The lingering anti-McCain sentiment among some voters and the continuing Paul insurgency suggest that McCain has not fully quelled hostility from some elements in his party.

8. I expect them to throw out Paul before the GE
It is THEIR fault tho for not giving him a serious chance. We would have seriously given Obama a contest to win.

So go Paul Go!! Teach those republican FUCKS a lesson!

11. I see more Paul signs around here in Mass than any other candidate.
In either party. I'm rooting for him to stick around as long as he can. :D

12. So much for the Rove machine
The new GOP political machine seems a bit heavy-handed and blunt. I'm not underestimating them, mind you, but this is not a promising beginning for them.

At best, sites like this will secure their dwindling base. They're going to have to do better.

13. LOL
They are taking Hillary's campaign and running it over again.

Last week of the election when Obama is up in the polls expect Pat Buchanan and Joey Scab's heads to explode after screaming but but but he's black.

14. So the GOP wants to raise "questions?" Oh, i think the public
has a whole LOT of 'questions" for the GOP about their last decade of "leadership." And a growing anger with that do-nothing, out-of-touch, arrogant, wingnut-controlled party known more for its simplistic fear-and-smear campaigns than for discussing any real issues.

I say Bring It On, Republicans. This is going to be a rout from the American people that the GOP has long deserved.
