IMO, Obama handled the Hamas thing very well
Let me preface this by saying that I think Jimmy Carter is right about Hamas. That being said I know that Obama is running for President of the United States and I understand the political reality in this country.

Obama handled this perfectly because he stated flat out that he would not negotiate with Hamas until they met very specific conditions and he stated exactly what those conditions were. He wasn't wishy-washy he didn't try to take two sides of the issue, he stated flat out what his position was in clear and very simple language.

Furthermore his subtle "losing his bearings" comment wasn't accidental, it was brilliant. Now the media is talking about McCain's age instead of Hamas. Even if the Republicans accuse him of being ageist it's better to have the talking heads discussing McCain's age than it is to them discussing whether or not Obama supports Hamas. That allows Obama to get back on message while McCain's people have to talk about age for the next few days.

2. We'll see a completely different Obama if he's the nominee. Did you see how he wacked Romney?
That was great.

He held back on Hillary to keep teh party together, but he won't pull punches against the republicans.

Obama Boom Bye Yeh!

4. By another name it's called pandering.
for someone who says we must talk to our enemies without conditions as well as to our friends and what he said about Carter's actions is nothing but pandering to the AIPAC lobby, period.

6. It's pandering, but it's far bigger than the AIPAC lobby
McCain is basically accusing him of wanting to coddle terrorists and he can't win an election with that perception around his neck. If it were just the AIPAC lobby it's one thing. But he's pandering to most of the American electorate in this case. And unfortunately that's what you have to do to win.
