CLINTON: PLAYING THE RACE CARD?
Edited on Fri May-09-08 12:28 PM by MrWiggles
Here’s what some said in response : “Muriel Offerman, a North Carolina superdelegate who has not disclosed her choice, said, ‘That should not have been said. I think it drives a wedge, a racial wedge, and that's not what the Democratic Party's about.’ Asked about Clinton's comments, Massachusetts superdelegate Debra Kozikowsi said, ‘That's distressing. I'm not even sure how to respond to that.’”

"Hillary Clinton misplays race card while Barack Obama is treated like rock star." " Some of her supporters -- including Rep. Charles Rangel (D-Manhattan) -- slammed the comments. ‘I can't believe Sen. Clinton would say anything that dumb,’ Rangel told The News as he headed to the House floor, where earlier he had embraced Obama. The bitter words came as both candidates looked ahead to West Virginia's primary Tuesday and pressed their talking points -- Clinton insisting she was in the race to win, while Obama argued he could have the nomination wrapped up when Oregon and Kentucky vote on May 20."

1. Well some people don't just hit below the belt
they go for the "privates" with sharp objects. This tells me how low some people will go. It's unfortunate that she didn't learn from her earlier rude and mean comments.

What a monumentally stupid thing for a political leader to say. :(

6. Her remarks were staggering.
They were also the "talk of the town" at my extremely diverse workplace the past few days.

I have to say reading them put a lump in my throat. I just couldn't believe it. Thought for certain they were somehow taken out-of-context, and it wasn't until I heard the audio that I realized she said it, she really did, she went there.

How does Senator Clinton expect to lead an entire nation if she's essentially ceded voters of color and now only seems interested in wooing a certain segment of the population? It's maddening. She's disqualified herself.

7. Just when I thought she couldn't possibly say anything more obnoxious, she did.
I have begun to imagine this progression continuing in Hillary's devolution, until she finally just starts screaming over and over "BUT HE'S A N*****!!"

I mean, really, Hilly, please, for the love of all that is holy, shut the fuck up!!
