Yes, It's Obvious, Hillary Is Not Going To Be The Nominee. Just Ain't Gonna Happen. However,
However, she absolutely DOES have a place in the Democratic Party, is a great Dem with tremendous capability, would've made a great president and she has done more and will continue to do more to support our causes than the overwhelming majority of you slandering keyboard warriors could ever dream of doing in your lifetime.

Cheers to you Hillary. The end is near but you put up one hell of a fight and I still respect the hell out of you.

9. Here's an honest question:
Do you think you, personally, have brought in more supporters to Obama or alienated more Democrats from the party?

How many times have you posted anything which paraphrased to "good riddance!"

No one should be cheering or taking any kind of comfort or validation from the exodus of Democrats from DU. It is a microcosm.

15. My feeling is this. The loyal Dems will do what loyal Dems ALWAYS do
support the nominee. Beyond that, it's important to start working to bring in the independents and republicans. Not my job to get the Dems to do the right thing (in fact a party that needs to do that, is pretty much doomed). Then I consider the situation our nation is in.

Any Democrat that wouldn't support the nominee, after our Country is on the brink of disaster (thanks to 8 years of Bush) is simple not worth having in the party. They are too short sighted and too self centered. Any Dem that wouldn't support the nominee in light of what is at stake with the Supreme Court, clearly doesn't care about what we leave to future generations. People that don't care about the Country or our future generations, are not really good prospects. Better to work on people who at least have the common ground of caring about our Country, our fellow citizens and our future generations.

27. I feel you need to step back and take a broader view.
You need to try to understand that many people are DEEPLY offended by her comments, especially those along racial lines. She is seen, not just by Obama supporters, as divisive and with good reason.

So yes, to her racism and divisiveness, I say good riddance.

To those supporting her racist and divisive comments, I say good riddance.

There are some things that are clearly wrong and not values that we should purport as "Democratic". Her comments, especially yesterday's, need to be condemned. And anyone who stands by those comments needs to take a long look and figure out if they are with the right party.

If you align yourselves with those views, prepare to be chastised, and rightfully so. If it makes you angry or uncomfortable, there are places where you may better fit in... like Free Republic. The stuff they say on there lines up nearly perfectly with Hillary's comments yesterday. To the untrained observer, I'm not sure you'd be able to tell the difference. Do you not find that disturbing?

And just like Barack has rejected pandering for votes, I reject begging for votes from people that support racist and divisive things. These are votes I don't want. We will overcome the loss of these individuals with every new voter we register and every citizen that is desperate for CHANGE and HOPE.

Sorry, but just the way I feel.

77. You've explained that you feel strongly that I shouldn't have such strong feelings.
Less words.

We're not going to win without Hillary's 15m voters. Period.

This is politics. We won't have an opportunity to change anything unless we win.

I'm tired of being Don fucking Quixote.

The big hope illusion is that there is a mythical pool of voters who have been waiting for the right moment to become politically active. There are only two groups we're going get votes from;
a) those who voted for Kerry
b) those who voted for Bush.

The Clinton supporters who are being systematically excommunicated are disproportionately group a) folks.

65. They don't care
they suffer from the delusion that everybody believes as they do - or at least the overwhelming majority of people. They're absolutely incapable of seeing that Clinton is supported by half the party. They truly believe she's wildly unpopular and that everybody loves Obama.

It's an arrogant, smug position to take, and one that I hope doesn't go any higher in the campaign, because it's a good way to lose.

17. No - she didn't. While WE were working our asses off for Gore and Kerry, TeamClinton was undermining
their campaigns, and even resorted to sabotaging Ohio Dem voters on election night in 2004.

While WE were working our asses off to push the Downing Street Memos forward, Clintons showed ZERO INTEREST in helping, and Bill even pretended as if he never heard them in a broadcast tv interview.

While WE were working to push a filibuster of Alito, Hillary and Schumer both stoofd AGAINST any filibuster in the senate Dem caucus and the next day after thousands of protest calls to her office, Hillary said she'd side with filibuster, but she never worked actively for it and she and Schumer both disparaged Kerry in the press for attempting it.

Don't even PRETEND she has done more for Dem issues than DU has. It's simply not true.

29. Anyone
who can still praise Hillary after the vile way she has conducted herself throughout this campaign is beyond my comprehension. She's a "fighter" all right. But she fights for nothing but her own ambition. Setting the campaign aside, look at her Senate record. In what way does it show a woman fighting for what is best for the people? She represents the kind of faux-Democrat that I hope we are seeing the last of.

I don't support politicians based on whether they have done more for the country than the average citizen. I set the bar a bit higher than that.

Everyone here has gone through the process of choosing, and there is no hive mind.

In the process of denigrating those few that have offended you, you have yourself offended many others who support Obama and yet do not take part in this BS.

Speaking of arrogance, hypocrisy also comes to mind. You are yelling loudly and angrily at those that yell loudly and angrily. You are what you claim to hate.

It was a "shut the fuck up about her being kicked out of the party you friggin moron, she's done more than you ever fuckin will" thread. Clearly there's a difference LOL.

60. But DU depends on you and you alone for our feel-good, lets-get-along mojo.
Without your Dalai Lama-like abilities to bring people together, where will we turn?

;-)

67. Keyboard warriors? What are you typing on? Let me guess- a keyboard?
Edited on Fri May-09-08 01:20 PM by Dr Fate
I was ready to agree with the spirit of your post until you had to bring in the old timey "nut roots activists" type language that we started hearing when Lamont beat Lieberman. You guys dont know when to quit with that stuff.

But enough of memory lane-In any event, I agree that we could still see more great things from the Clintons- and I'm ready to fight McCain whenever you are. :)

72. It's funny- I heard all about "key board warriors" and "nutroots"- from- Tada- The internet itself!!
In other words, the folks who go on & on about the "keyboard warriors" spend as much time typing on their keyboards as anyone.

It's hard to believe they don't see the hypocrisy & irony in using those monikers...

83. I heard the same crap when all the DLC/Blue dog types were defending Lieberman too.

"Stop attacking him- he's a good DEM- you key board warriors are too radical, blah blah blah."

How about that one for being grounded in reality- he turned out to be the swine that the "keyboard warriors" said he would be.

The clear eyed "key board centrists" got it wrong- just like they got Iraq & everything else wrong. Grounded in reality indeed!

You guys dont have a problem with folks who engage in "keyboard" discussions just like you- you just have a problem with liberals & anti-Bush moderates who disagree with you.

And it's a morAnic nose- you guys have your own way of spelling it, remember? ;)

But enough of Memory lane- are you ready to take on McCain? I was born ready.

70. She deserves a place *IF*
she quits trying to rip apart the presumptive nominee. Otherwise she's showing that she's got no regard for the party and, as such, the party shouldn't have any regard for her.

71. I hope HRC can bring some of her fighting spirit during the GE
if not for Obama then for Dems across the country. POTUS is just one piece of the pie. We need a majority that can and WILL stand up to the Rethugs.

85. She does have a place.
But the importance of that place diminishes with each day she uses race-baiting as a campaign ploy. It diminishes each day she attacks Obama instead of McCain. She has chosen this path for herself so while you respect her fight, don't begrudge the winner from performing the coup de grace when he is force to do it.

"No surrender" also means "You'll never take me alive".
