Clinton calls for debate in Oregon
Edited on Fri May-09-08 09:54 AM by Abacus

CENTRAL POINT, Oregon (CNN) – Campaigning in her third state of the day on Thursday, Hillary Clinton again called for a debate with Barack Obama, arguing that many of the issues faced in Oregon are not the same as the rest of the country.

“The problems in Oregon are not the same as the problems in Indiana. They’re not the same as the problems in Pennsylvania,” Clinton told several hundred supporters at a nighttime rally."

“…That’s why I was pleased to accept the invitation from the Democratic Party of Oregon to debate my opponent,” Clinton continued, pointing out that they would both be in Portland on Friday and that she was ready “anytime, anywhere.”

Kidding aside, I think both HRC's Leadership Style (micro-management) and Demeanor (good with small groups) would lend itself to be a TOP NOTCH Governor of NY State. I mean the foregoing as complementary. Running a State is much different than Inspirational Leadership required for The President of The United States.

As much as I despise George W. Bush, when he talked his "Southern Style Charm" ... the right wing swooned.

Chelsea speaks "Yes....Yes.....Yes, Mr. Moderator. While in Chicago I did lie about..."

It will be a battle to remember.

54. Using that word does damage to your ability to draw others to your viewpoint
by raising the prospect of "sexism" as the justification for it(whether you believe in the truth of that or not), which can actively delay unity. Remember HIllary, can make her own choices and the voters can make their own, it's the voters that vote in the ultimate election that is where the true power is. So please lets focus, both in tone and in purpose on winning these voters onto our side (and I don't want to seem sanctimonious because I fail at that too)for that reason, please consider editing your OP before the editing time expires.

Obama has been saying all week that he is not yet the nominee.

Therefore it makes sense for him to accept this challenge.

Unless he is scared of a 60 year-old white lady.

In which case - he needs to find himself some courage.

Short of cash, Clinton is forced to cut spending

No-frills events eyed ahead of next primaries as campaign debts grow

By PATRICK HEALY and MICHAEL LUO
updated 5:10 a.m. ET, Fri., May. 9, 2008

The once-formidable fund-raising machine of Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton has begun to sputter at the worst possible moment for Mrs. Clinton’s presidential campaign, Clinton advisers and donors said Thursday, with spending curtailed on political events and advertising as Mrs. Clinton seeks to compete in the last six nominating contests.

Mrs. Clinton’s diminished political momentum, following Tuesday’s loss in the North Carolina primary and her narrow victory in Indiana, appears to have had a dampening effect on her fund-raising, aides said, increasing the likelihood that Mrs. Clinton will lend her campaign more of her own money beyond the $11 million she has already provided.

Clinton advisers said Mrs. Clinton was committed to spending more of her own cash on the campaign if necessary, although they spoke optimistically about a rise in fund-raising if she prevails in Tuesday’s primary in West Virginia.

The campaign is clearly running low on cash, although advisers would not say how much money — or how little — Mrs. Clinton currently has. The campaign had started April with over $10 million in unpaid debts, and Mrs. Clinton was vastly outspent by Senator Barack Obama in North Carolina and Indiana.
