Hillary needs to pay off her loan by the convention or else its
a donation. $11 million down the drain. Wow.

"Thanks to a little-known provision in 2002's McCain-Feingold campaign-finance reform bill, a campaign must repay the loan to a candidate before Election Day. In this case, that's the nominating convention. After the election has passed, a bankrupt campaign is limited to gathering just $250,000 from contributors, which means that modest sum is all it can give back to a candidate. In short, Clinton stands to lose $11,150,000. "If she wants to be repaid, she'd have to move on that between now and the national convention," says former Federal Election Commission chairman Michael Toner. "Otherwise, it just becomes another contribution." The campaign, meanwhile, has other debts to consider as well. According to her latest FEC filing, the Hillary Clinton for President campaign committee owes millions to vendors, including more than $4.5 million to Penn, Schoen & Berland Associates, the consulting firm of her former chief strategist Mark Penn."

3. Sounds like she might have to pony up more to get through
the 6 remaining contests too.

I think she is crazy.

2. No tears for the Clintons
they have hundreds of millions... this is just one small bad investment.
They'll find a way to write it off.

5. Heck, I will kick in if she will drop out and stop attacking her fellow Democrat.
"If his (Obama's) campaign fundraisers are able to help her retire her debt, she's in a much more comfortable position and would be far better disposed (to help him in the general election)." Adds Toner: "That's very common, particularly when you're trying to join ranks to help your defeated colleagues."

Even with Obama's help, however, it's unlikely that Clinton could recoup all or even most of her millions. "Debt fundraising is one of the hardest asks in politics," Toner says. "You've already lost. They'd rather give money to candidates still in the running."

4. $11 million is a lot of money --
but not so much when you are worth $100 million. I'll bet Bill could give one speech in Saudi Arabia and make most of that up.

8. you're probably right.
but still, I don't think that the $11 million her campaign owes her is going to be a deciding factor in anything. The Clintons can and do make a lot of money, spend a lot and give a lot away.

15. You may be right - the $109 million is how much they
earned in the years since he left office. If it's the Senate number things like homes are excluded and they have a Georgetown (DC) and a NY home as well - adding in a few more million.

11. With loss of power, my guess is the speaking fee revenue decreases as well.
Overseas maybe but he sure has made a lot of enemies with his divisive rhetoric here.

14. She and Bill have $150 million. That's chump change to them.
And if she continues to spend irresponsibily on a LOSING campaign why should I have to finance that for her?

This issues speaks to her fiscal irresponsibility, her bad judgment and her willigness to fly in the face of all proof. Is that really what we want as a president?
