a lot of people keep saying the Clinton has "Won" Michigan and Florida, while others say she signed some kind of Pledge or Agreement that those states wouldn't "count"..

I'm wondering if there's a PDF of those Agreements with maybe a signature by her or a Rep, so we can all see with our own eyes WHY she's invalidated any claim to those states..

Then maybe she can put a sock in it already.. :)

Sorry if its been posted before, might be helpful now though, to calm a few folks Down..

3. I'd don't even need to see her signature on anything.
I'd be happy if Howard Dean would just publicly state that she agreed those states didn't count--orally or in writing. The Clintons have turned into a self-serving election machine. I've lost so much respect for Bill, and that's a bitter pill to swallow, indeed.

4. Many of us are still waiting for those videos
of the Edwards campaign. Remember? The ones that many members here donated money for you to make following the Edwards' campaign around? DUers donated their money and all they got was one lousy half-assed video. Take back the media MY ASS.

16. Yeah ... I sent him $$ too. Should have listened to the poster

who warned of a potential scam. Wonder how many of us donated through his now defunct website: www.takebackthemedia.com? I sent $50.

5. I remember KO showing a copy but this is what I found:
The text of the pledge is reprinted below:

Four State Pledge Letter 2008
Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, South Carolina
August 31, 2007

WHEREAS, Over a year ago, the Democratic National Committee established a 2008 nominating calendar;

WHEREAS, this calendar honors the racial, ethnic, economic and geographic diversity of our party and our country;

WHEREAS, the DNC also honored the traditional role of retail politics early in the nominating process, to insure that money alone will not determine our presidential nominee;

WHEREAS, it is the desire of Presidential campaigns, the DNC,the states and the American people to bring finality, predictability and common sense to the nominating calendar.

THEREFORE, I _______________, Democratic Candidate for President, pledge I shall not campaign or participate in any state which schedules a presidential election primary or caucus before Feb. 5, 2008, except for the states of Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire and South Carolina, as “campaigning” is defined by rules and regulations of the DNC.

Hillary, Obama and Edwards all agreed to the pledge on September 1, 2007.

Clinton, Obama and Edwards Join Pledge to Avoid Defiant States

By JEFF ZELENY
Published: September 2, 2007
PORTSMOUTH, N.H., Sept. 1 — Three of the major Democratic presidential candidates on Saturday pledged not to campaign in Florida, Michigan and other states trying to leapfrog the 2008 primary calendar, a move that solidified the importance of the opening contests of Iowa and New Hampshire.

Hours after Senator Barack Obama of Illinois and former Senator John Edwards of North Carolina agreed to sign a loyalty pledge put forward by party officials in Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York followed suit. The decision seemed to dash any hopes of Mrs. Clinton relying on a strong showing in Florida as a springboard to the nomination.

“We believe Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina play a unique and special role in the nominating process,” Patti Solis Doyle, the Clinton campaign manager, said in a statement.

Hillary Clinton and the Four State Pledge

By - March 13, 2008, 7:27PM
Clinton, Edwards and Obama all signed the Four State Pledge in September 2007.

Here is the original Hillary Clinton campaign press release.
http://www.hillaryclinton.com/news/release/view/?id=3134

This is a copy of the pledge she signed.
http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/i/msnbc/sections/news/070831_Final_Pledge.pdf

Her signature, pledge and promise has proven, however, to be worthless
http://www.hillaryclinton.com/news/release/view/?id=6492

How can America trust her, if she breaks such a solemn promise?

15. I didn't have the money at the time
but was quite interested nonetheless.

I'm glad that I didn't donate or else that would have truly been wasted money that could go towards a pair of shoes for my child.

19. But why would he hide?
If someone is on the up-and-up, as he has said that he is, then why would he hide?

And wouldn't he let everyone know exactly what had happened?

10. Here is a video of her stating the MI election "is not going to count for anything"
Here is what Hillary said about the contest in Michigan on that youtube clip above:

"I personally did not think it made any difference whether my name was on the ballot. You know, It's clear this election they are having is not going to count for anything."

12. It isn't about what any indidvidual candidate or chairman did
or did not say or sign.

This is about what the fuck does the Democratic party stand for?

Are they about actual democracy and inclusion of every vote

or are they about gaming it all

Spin it any way you want, but not counting millions of votes and calling caucuses democracy is nothing

more than making a mockery of democracy and the Democratic Party.

13. Exactly. This isn't about any candidate.
This is about the voters, who merely had the audacity to go to the polls and cast their vote on the day they were told to do so. They should not be punished.

18. They were told it didn't count
so a lot didn't show up.

Seat the delegates and you disenfranchise those who took the party and the candidates at their word and didn't show up for a beauty contest.

14. There is AUDIO of her saying that Michigan's results would not count.
And yes, they each signed an agreement on Michigan that it would not count. Florida, I don't know about.
