Many in Boston Will Settle for Boring Over Bush
Is that what's referred to as a slanted headline?

BOSTON (Reuters) - Some call him wooden and boring, others say he's thoughtful and intelligent. But Democrats agree on one thing as they prepare to nominate John Kerry for president: at least he's not George W. Bush.

Several of the convention delegates, here to officially nominate the Massachusetts senator on Wednesday, defended Kerry against charges he is dull and aloof. But some admitted to wishing another Democrat was at the top of the party's ticket to take on President Bush.

"He's a little stiff and he's a wooden speaker, but he's intellectually curious," said Joe Cryan, a delegate from New Jersey.

Interviews with two dozen voters in this Democratic stronghold this week yielded promises to cast their ballot for the Kerry on Nov. 2. But they characterized him as a far from ideal candidate.

2. Fine - let them keep lowering expectations. . . .
Apparently, people who know Kerry say can really deliver when it counts.

So let the press keep lowering expectations for Thursday's speech.

6. I will settle for a half-eaten hot dog
over Bush.

But, yes, that is a biased headline, as anyone who actually WATCHED the speeches last night can tell you. This convention is no snooze-fest. Christ, even Gephardt had some fire in his belly.
