Interesting and prophetic statement about W
"When former President Roosevelt was told one of his young boys, Quinton, had died for his country and for France, Teddy Roosevelt looked down, his eyes filled up with tears, and he looked up and said, `When you have raised your sons to be eagles, you can't expect them to be doves.'

The word `dove' had as much resonance then as I guess it did during the Vietnam war when some people let high school graduates go in their place so they could continue their higher education in a foreign land demonstrating against their country's objectives to keep half of Vietnam free and to prevent the killing fields and give aid and comfort to a vicious Communist worldwide effort to crush liberte, equalite, fraternite."

Of course, this was from Bob Dornan.

And in 1994.

And in the Congressional Record.

1. Dornan's a piece of shit
He kept himself in college - studying acting - to keep out of harm's way and only joined up after it was clear that Korea was winding down, and he wouldn't be in any danger. Then he went and crashed a bunch of planes and after military life, tried to become an actor.

I've seen one of his movies - thankfully with the group from Mystery Science Theater 3000 making fun of it. It was about a young hard-partying fighter/test pilot with an influential father in Washington who tried to keep his son out of any danger. Sound familiar? Well, the similarities end there because the young hotshot resented his father's meddling and wanted to bravely put his life on the line for America. Typical dreck you would expect from someone like him.
