What's going on in Lake County is fishy...
Toobin just pointed it out on CNN. This is NOT how it's supposed to done. Waiting until all the votes are in and then releasing them is what happens in dirty elections, so they can figure out the result before the public and change the results.

Unsure who this will benefit but it's fishy and if this is as close as it seems there will be questions to answer tomorrow in Lake County.

26. Thank you for being smart! Think about it...
If you were an AA in Indiana of all places, in a Chicago suburb, and your vote FINALLY MATTERED in a dem primary! They are showing up in droves. In Indy, some dem poll workers were panicking about not having enough ballots. People were saying they passed out more dem ballots in the 1st hour in polling than the whole day in 2004 election. That's impressive.

13. since both of these areas are Obama counties
and since both had record turn out, your "suspicions" are misplaced. if Obama wanted to steal the election, why would he want to withhold two of his STRONGEST areas?

If anyone is trying to mess with this election, Evan wanna-be-vp Bayh would be a much likelier candidate for that.

15. They could still be releasing votes even if they were swamped...

They don't have to hold all the votes until the counting is done. I am an Obama supporter but if Lake County puts him over the top the Clinton campaign will cry foul because of how this was carried out, and you just KNOW the media will run with a possible election fraud meme, which is the last thing Obama needs after what should be a deal-closing night.

27. This isn't "late". They are withholding votes that have already been tallied.

I am an Obama supporter but this is unacceptable. The Mayor of Gary is a big Obama supporter and this is going to be called into question by the media if he wins.

Here come the results...

31. Except Obama did not need to win Indiana
Had Indiana come in at 4%, the difference without ANY Lake county and half of Monroe (IU) and Tippecanoe(Purdue) - in conjuction with the NC win - it would have been enough.

This is likely to be too close to call until provincial votes are counted. (Remember there is the Limbaugh effect that is not the measurable - without which Obama would have a clear win.

45. Rudy Clark, Gary mayor, Lake County elections chairman, obama fan.
He's publically said that his county could give Obama an upset victory in IN, & maybe he intends to deliver on that promise. But I agree that it's unnecessary - Clinton is giving all the signs of stopping her campaign & supporting Obama for the nominee. It's basically over. At least let her have her victory in IN; she deserves it.

He says he reported his town's votes hours ago and now they're just filtering in.

Something very strange going on.

This is the bluest county in the state.

If Obama doesn't get 65% of Lake County, it's totally fucked.
