Here's one thing, just one thing I want to know about Indiana
what the f#*&%*#& time is it there??? :banghead:

part of it's in central part in eastern, none uses daylight savings time. :wtf:

(yeah, yeah I know about Arizona, I lived there and although my time never changed, everyone out of state's did --which I had to keep track of, not to mention Monday Night Football moves from 6pm to 7pm midseason with no warning.) :banghead:

5. except Chicago suburbs which are on central
but the central time zones do have daylight savings (or not?).

goofy state. the corn don't care what time it is and basketball can be played indoors so the time don't matter.

2. Olbermann just said polls close there in 1/2 hour (don't quote me-I think).
Edited on Tue May-06-08 05:34 PM by babylonsister
Another hour for NC, or is that the other way around? :hide: Big help, aren't I? ;)

Edit to add this is true; that info was just repeated, but to further complicate things, it's 5:34pm CT here.

21. yeah. he has trouble figuring out male and female :)
the time used to stay the same and not go on DST. this changed and the time now, as I post with my time stamp here, 7pm. (edt) Honestly, I didn't know a portion of the state had stayed on a diff. time.

4. No, they mostly do daylight savings time now. For the past couple of years.
But there are three time zones, I think.

I was born and raised there, and I loved NOT resetting clocks twice per year. Although like you say, the tv times change!

8. they changed that recently didn't they?
i recall reading about this and thinking, there is no way to set up Indiana time in any sort of acceptable and consistent fashion unless you put the neighboring states in the same time zone also.

i just thought it used to be Chicago burbs were in central, Cincinnati burbs were in eastern, etc.

:hi:

Edited on Tue May-06-08 05:46 PM by karynnj
and is on Central time - though I guess it would be Central daylight now. This is a huge Democratic county with Gary, Hammond, East Chicago and a bunch of suburbs

15. IMHO all the middle states should be the same time zone
Edited on Tue May-06-08 05:50 PM by CreekDog
too confusing otherwise.

(on edit: yes Idaho and Ohio should be in the same time zone):hide:

16. It's not that unusual
Several states have the same issue. MI, TN and KY have part of the state Eastern and part Central. The Chicago suburbs and Evansville are Central, the rest of the state is Eastern.

Part of CO is Central and part is Mountain time. I believe TX is the same way.

Having two different time zones in a state isn't that unusual.

19. It makes sense for them
Edited on Tue May-06-08 05:58 PM by Jake3463
The people who live in the northwestern part of the state go on Chicago time because they work in Chicago. I'd be more critical but I dated a girl for a while from that area and when she explained it to me...it made sense.
