Former Clinton adviser: "What she's doing is fearmongering of the worst political order"

http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,23649599-2703,00.html

HILLARY Clinton is cynically engaging in China bashing to win blue collar votes but will be friendly to Beijing if she becomes president, one of her former advisers said yesterday.

"What she's doing is fearmongering of the worst political order and it's why I had to quit her campaign," said Richard Baum, a respected China scholar at the University of California, Los Angeles.

"What's even more appalling ... is that I don't think there's any chance she actually believes any of what she's saying.

"It's all bare-knuckles politics on her part, straight out of the Karl Rove school - a cynical, calculated effort to win over the lunch-pail Democrats, for who China's an easy target."

...

But Professor Baum, who resigned as a Clinton adviser a month ago because of her China bashing, said the worst may be yet to come.

"I think it all depends on how desperate she gets," he said. "Barack Obama has been soft- pedalling on China because he can afford to tell the truth. But for Hillary, she's decided she's going to go after blue collar Democrats and among these people, there's a really sour opinion about China, and she knows it."

1. "I don't think there's any chance she actually believes any of what she's saying. "
She's developing quite a pattern...how can anyone believe HER?

3. I can't understand the people still supporting her. I could understand it, even if
I disagreed, earlier in the race but, now, I just don't get it.

15. A lot of it is racism. A lot of it is the women that want to see a woman in the White House.
There really can't be any other answer when you see her lie all the time. Her supporters know she is a bald faced liar but they don't care. They claim Obama has not been truthful but there is no way they can say Hillary is more truthful than Barack with a straight face.

5. There's a lot of truth to that phrase. She's a smart woman...
who has been saying a lot of stupid things lately.

Seriously, how can she look at herself in the mirror?

7. Is she smart?
I used to think she was extremely intelligent. But as I look at how much she has imploded, how much she's damaged her reputation, her support and her future, I am seriously wondering now.

8. People believe her who want to believe her..
It is nothing new. Your candidate just bends the truth, others lie. Besides your candidate is going to correct all that when he/she is elected. sure...and I am going to win the lottery..(I never buy tickets)

11. Did you read the OP? That's one of her former advisors talking.
Not a sterling recommendation. And when 200+ economists tell her she's nuts, RE: gas tax holiday, who ARE you going to believe? :eyes:

Whether Clinton is kicking you or praising you all depends on which way the wind is blowing on any given day.

12. Don't forget her xenophobic sabre rattling towards OPEC! She's also demagouguing on some A-rabs too.

End stage Clinton campaign slogan: Nuke their ass and take their gas!

Hatin' on Arabs, Chinese, "pansies"--she's becoming like a rainbow flag of bigotry.
