Company: State knew of problems with felons list since 1998

SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) -- State election officials knew since at least 1998 that a recently scrapped felons list designed to clear convicted felons from voter rolls would have a glitch and exclude Hispanics, according to a company that helped create the list.

Private company DBT helped build the felons list for the 2000 election. DBT, which was later bought by ChoicePoint, discussed the difficulties involving Hispanic felons with experts in the secretary of state's office in late 1997 or early 1998, ChoicePoint spokesman Chuck Jones said Monday.

ChoicePoint and state officials analyzed the data together and realized that using race would create an inaccurate list because of the problems with Hispanic or Latinos, he said.

"We determined jointly that it was not reliable," Jones told the Sarasota Herald-Tribune for a story in Tuesday's editions.

1. Big surprise!!!
The agenda was not to have an accurate list, just an excuse to keep those Democrat loving nigras from voting.

Yet, where's the outrage?

Lies about Sandy Bergers socks are so much more newsworthy.

toes to the top of its beehive hair-do. I don't know if it trickles up or down, but that kind of behavior is very common in my community. Our Home Owner's Association is a mess because the good ole boy system is so thick around here.

3. Florida needs to be cleaned up big time. The FBI needs to go in there
en masse and start busting these frauds.

6. Not criminal nor civil relief for the problems in Florida
You can't even depend on a civil lawsuit to resolve the corruption that exists at the core of this state. Those who would abuse the system get embedded in government positions or within community civic positions and to target them is the same as shooting off your foot. Try sueing a city and you'll find that they have unlimited access to lawyers and you're paying for it through your taxes. Those court cases will result in settlement agreements which usually end up with a gag order so the information never goes out to the larger community where demand for change would take place.

They've gagged environmentalists and I know of one settlement agreement that gagged an entire community! How do you enforce change when corrupt individuals can frighten an entire community into silence? It's just unbelievable.

7. What you do, if you live in one of these 15 counties, is vote absentee!
Here is a link to contact all the election supervisors in Florida and a list of the 15 counties that will be using these electonic voting machines, if nothing is done to stop them or to require them to lease optical scan machines.

Broward, Charlotte, Collier, Hillsborough, Indian River, Lake, Lee, Martin, Miami-Dade, Nassau, Palm Beach, Pasco, Pinellas, Sarasota, Sumter

8. I live in a Republican county.
That's why it's so tragic. These people act like complete bungling fools when the property rights that they so vehemently demand in their business dealings, get turned around and adversely applied to them. I think they're too stupid to realize that they provided the gun powder for the gun that was turned on them.
