1,493,677 donors to the Obama campaign so far: going for 1,500,000 by end of day tomorrow.

Oops: up to 1,493, 702 in the last 60 seconds. Think of that...every 2-3 seconds someone decides they want Barack Obama for President of the United States. That's about 10,000 more since the last time I checked, late Saturday night.

So if you've been thinking about making a donation, now would be a great time. A look at the FEC filings shows how the bulk of the Obama campaign's money comes from small donors like myself who want change, and have put their money where their mouth is even if we can't afford much. We've been told time and again that we can't change Washington but for that I have three words: Yes we can!

2. How did you do it?
I can (and have) made many types of campaign phone calls in different phone banks. I can handle persuasion calls on any topic, but I've never, ever been able to ask people for donations to a candidate. (Not even friends and family--what's your secret)?

how fantastic it is that he's got almost 1.5 million donors of contributions around 90 bucks and that ordinary people CAN make a difference, even if it's only 15 bucks. They want to be a part of it. :hi:

6. Here's one simply way
If they're enthusiastic, ask them if they'd consider purchasing an Obama t-shirt or sign. The campaign makes some money, and it's a great way to show their support to friends, neighbors, and even strangers. I really believe that he's going to be President, and a very good one - when I wear mine I'm conscious of the fact that it'll be something to show my kids one day.
