Obama proved down ticket power this weekend - to the dismay of the GOP and the Clinton Campaign

This is and has been a big deal. Obama will bring it in the GE

"More on that Louisiana specialPosted: Monday, May 05, 2008 1:29 PM by Mark Murray

A smart take from Hotline: "Obama survived one critical test this weekend. No, not the Russert interview. The LA-06 special, a closely watched election where GOPers poured tons of money on ads trying to link conservative Dem Cazayoux to Obama in an attempt to nationalize the race. It didn't work out as planned. To be sure, GOPer Jenkins was a flawed candidate, making this an imperfect test of Obama's down-ballot strength. The 5/13 special in MS-01, which features a stronger GOPer, will be a better indicator. Even so, if Obama can't be used effectively as a wedge: 1) when he's at his weakest and 2) in a CD carried by Bush w/ 59%, what does this say about GOP chances to hold their open seats in more competitive districts?"

1. They are doing the same thing with the MS-01 special election
I think that it is this week. The republicans are pouring money into the race to keep a Republican in. But the Dem may actually win in a heave republican area just south of Memphis.

2. That's awesome. Oh, and there's no such thing as a "flawed" GOP candidate.
Just take a look at some of the braindead repuke goobers that get elected all over the country. Trust me, in the average Red district, all you need is the R by your name, some money, and a following of morons.

3. I live in MorAn central -
Texas - Collin County - Where Ross Perot cam in First place and Clinton cam in 3rd place in 1992! Another thing - The Clinton campaign was hoping that this this rep would not win so they could make some case against Obama. Read the article below. Also, there is another post that is trying to spin this by stating that he would have won by MORE if it weren't for Obama. GEEEZ!

"Democratic losses would give Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton new ammunition to build her case for her presidential candidacy by questioning the sturdiness of Obama's coattails.

"``I think people want to know what chances we're going to be having in November if Obama is the nominee,'' said U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, a Missouri Democrat who has endorsed Clinton.

"``There are a host of judgments that superdelegates make,'' said Sen. Ron Wyden, an Oregon Democrat who has not endorsed either presidential candidate. ``Certainly a special election held close to a contested primary like this one could be very relevant.'' "
