She's starting to BELIEVE
In magic wands and "The sky will open. The lights will come down. Celestial choirs will be singing and everyone will know we should do the right thing and the world will be perfect."

Gas Tax:
“I’m not going to put my lot in with economists because I know if we did it right ... we would design it in such a way that it would be implemented effectively.”

1. That's a few steps away from "I'm the decider".
Come on, people. Do we really want four more years of Dubya with a (D) next to her name?

3. This just makes me want to call Obama Michael Dukakis
Obama supporters have done so much to divide the Democratic party. I've never seen such ugly bull about another Dem in this party till this new wave. Is this what Obama has inspired from you?

That resonates for people with long commutes and no public transit.

So I can save $30 per year.

That makes SO MUCH SENSE!

:sarcasm:

Fuck Hillary, and fuck anyone stupid enough to buy into her dishonest bullshit.

The day can't come soon enough until this Machiavellian, power-hungry waste of flesh fades away once and for all.

if you hadn't noticed.

She is now dodging queries about what economists support this ridiculous gas tax idea.

13. I am ready for the truth, whatever it is...
We need to know what our candidates believe and why they believe it. Then how will they accomplish their goals. Soo, I do want to hear what she has to say. Not sounding too good, in fact it sounds like she lost respect for the more needy in this country by using simple sound bites that once made people feel optimistic and good. Does she ever mention the rights we have lost due to George's rule? Obama does cover that from time to time. Course, I know what your point is, just couldn't help get serious for another mini rant.

9. Clap harder! Save Tinkerbell! CLAP HARDER!!!!

http://crookedtimber.org/2003/09/08/think-of-a-wonderful-thought/

You remember how in the second act Tinkerbell drinks some poison that Peter is about to drink in order to save him? And then Peter turns to the audience and he says, “Tinkerbell is going to die because not enough people believe in fairies. But if all of you clap your hands real hard to show that you do believe in fairies, maybe she won’t die.”

So, we all started to clap. I clapped so long and so hard that my palms hurt and they even started to bleed I clapped so hard. Then suddenly the actress playing Peter Pan turned to the audience and she said, “That wasn’t enough. You did not clap hard enough. Tinkerbell is dead.” And then we all started to cry. The actress stomped off stage and refused to continue with the production. They finally had to lower the curtain. The ushers had to come help us out of the aisles and into the street.

11. bottom line: She can say anything she wants because above all she knows
it will never happen. If she was serious, and being that summer is almost here, she likely would have submitted legislation to accomplish it. It's "pandering" for votes from imbeciles, nothing more, nothing less.

15. He's offering the TRUTH and talking to American's like they're adults
so yeah, I think he and his candidacy help this country lots. Voters selling out to political pandering got us 7 years of George W. Bush and neo-Republican rule. I think most of us are smart enough to figure out what's pandering and what's not. I know I can.

23. Obama isn't even suggesting he's going to help us, that's the problem
Tin ear:

Obama, 46, was telling a group of senior citizens in Columbia City, Indiana, about how suspending the federal gasoline tax for the summer was nothing more than a short-term solution to a long-term problem. A hand went up.

``A lot of us are nothing but short-termers,'' a woman told him, drawing laughs from the candidate and the crowd.

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087">link

Maybe it's a tin ear, or a rookie mistake, or a robo-speech, but a lot of us feel short-term when it comes to the budget squeeze.

How is Obama going to help us? That $1000 tax credit for some people, someday?

to anyone really needing help, then a sign by an interstate off-ramp will garner more help than that.

29. ill try to explain it
gas is 4.00 a gallon (just pulled a number out of my ass)
the federal tax is 5% or .20
if you are lucky like me you have a 12 gallon tank on your car
48.00 to fill at 4.00 per gallon
minus 5% or 2.40 is 45.60 a fill up
now i need the 2 and 1/2 bucks too as much as you im sure
but then the federal hiways dont get funded
because thats what that tax pays
and it becomes more expensive yet for truckers as the roads decay
so all freight must increase including food
it sounds better to put the 2.40 in your pocket
but if the subject of taxes is what you believe to be the gas problem
then you should address your state as they receive more than the 5% the fed collects

36. Vote your gut if you're still unsure. This NC voter and his
partner are voting for Barack Obama though. NC has been hit hard with mill closings and job loss, a huge loss that can be attributed to the Clinton NAFTA policy. Hillary and her hubby have never been on the political radar for us, but you have to make your own choice. Just don't "f" it up. :hi:

20. Well if the $36 or so that you'd get (if lucky) from the McCain/Hillary Gas Tax Holiday Pander
is all you need to feed your kids and get you to work then I would say you must not really have any financial difficulties. Besides, she's only talking it up...she hasn't submitted legislation to get it done so don't look for it in time for your summer vacation. It's pander for consumption by certain types of gullible voters.

and then I heard Hillary at the JJ dinner belittling the SIX HUNDRED DOLLAR giveaway from Chimp. If SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS is nothing what does that say about 30-60 dollars! I'm certainly not advocating chimp's give away just pointing out the amounts for comparison.

Pressed on whether Obama could beat presumptive Republican nominee John McCain -- something she's said in the past that he could not -- Clinton emphatically answered, "Yes, yes, yes." (21st debate)

“If Sen. Obama is the nominee, you better believe I'll work my heart out for him.” (Jefferson-Jackson dinner, Raleigh, N.C)

30. If you spent that whole "Holiday" (Whee!!!Holiday! psyops anyone?)
Parking at the far end of the grocery store and walking some (better for your health) instead of circling for that perfect Close parking spot, and driving at exactly the 55 mph thats optimum for fuel efficiency, then anyone could Save that much on their own for Chrissakes..

One less trip in the car would pay for this bullshit PR move that only helps large users of fuel, say Corporations..

If a Repig likes it, then its a lie and will benefit no one but their pals..

But the Tupperware Lady thinks its grand.. If her ideas are anything like those godawful clothes she wears, then we would be in a whole lot of trouble listening to her at ALL.. Even if she wasn't a lying Fraud taking fools for a joyride..
