Obama's speech tomorrow at the NC Jefferson-Jackson Dinner will end this race
Just like his speech at the Iowa JJ Dinner propelled him to win at the Iowa Caucus. His speech tomorrow will fire up Dems across NC and Indiana and end the race.

Get your popcorn ready.

4. Heh... maybe like the robo-call story, it'll be stuidiously ignored.
Let's hope not. :)

2. God, I hope so
I'm getting nervous, depressed, worried, and pessimistic. Or maybe in some different order.

7. Me too
I feel like it's all falling apart and my heart is breaking. I went through this with Dean 4 years ago and it's really painful. It would be one thing to see Obama go down for something he legitimately did wrong, but to see him taken down by this nonsense about what his preacher said is almost enough to make me not want to work in politics anymore. I asked my boss a while ago if most politicians are jerks behind the scenes and he said pretty much. He said that it takes a pathological personality to be able to withstand the kind of attacks you get from the press. I'm starting to see what he was talking about. I don't believe Obama is a saint by any means but I do believe that on the whole, he is genuinely a good person who tries to do the right thing most of the time, and he's going down because he chose to initially be loyal to a friend and give someone he's known for 20 years the benefit of the doubt.

8. I'm realistic. people are persuadable. voters are fickle and racism is real
Obama is sinking in every poll. Wright has done real damage, and it's questionable whether Obama can recover in 4 days. You know, if he doesn't make it, he had a hell of a run. I'd love to see him as the nominee and love it even more to see him as President, but if it doesn't happen, that's simply the way it is.

11. Cali, the math really doesn't provide for a Clinton nomination
and I have no doubt that given time till the GE, Obama will come roaring back.

Resons:
1. The propotional system of delegate awarding ensures that whoever wins the remaining states, the delegate count spread will not dramatically alter.

2. Today's letter to the SDs from J. Andrew and the Politico article "What Obama Wishes He Could Say" are all potent reminders to the SDs. They ARE the primary group who matter now and BO needs just 283 total delegates to get the majority of delegates now.

So this has been sewn up already for Obama.

14. being realistic is not switching candidates.
I think you know better than that. Anyone here should realize that my support for Obama is strong, and that my feelings about Clinton are none too felicitous. But I don't like being crushed, and I'd rather be prepared for anything. I'll whoop louder than anyone if does even OK next Tuesday, but I'm damned if I'm going to lull myself into some stupid senze that he's inevitable and then see it all come toppling down. YOU want to do that, fine, but don't accuse me of switching sides when I haven't.

27. As I'm one of the very few people who doesn't have TV
and doesn't tune in to the MSM at all, I think it's amusing to be warned by you. I get more info from blogs, links, CBC, BBC and that's about it.

13. If they deny Obama the nom because of racism, Hillary's tactis and such
they get what they deserve. I say protest vote, since Hillary and McCain are basically the same why bother.

19. I'm where you are and have been for a while now.
Since all the ridiculous "gates," I have decided what will be, will be. The opposition has nothing on Sen. Obama that hasn't been manufactured, and if people fall for it, so be it. We will indeed get the government we deserve...and all that goes with it.

17. Clinton can't overtake Obama in pledged delegates AND CLinton has not
really been attacked b/c Obama is trying to not fracture the party. If Clinton was REALLY attacked her poll numbers would plummet.

You're "the nominee will be based on these next two primaries" makes you sound just like the paid Clinton hacks who have been pushing this meme for quite a while on the cable shows. Oh well, I guess it's just one of those things that make you go hmmmm......

22. I have totally given up on the..
'expectation' game. I am fortunate that I don't watch the cable news shows, but unfortunately the slant, and negativity here, I'm sure echoes and amplifies what is seen on the tv. Senator Obama has continuously denied the media their right to categorize him, or this primary race. I have a 'watch what happens' attitude, and each and every time, voting takes place, the American people surprise me by seeing past the bullshit. The audacity to hope is not easy...but what have you got to lose?

3. Just watch how the media covers it...
Edited on Thu May-01-08 02:07 PM by backscatter712
Clinton's speech will be broadcast far and wide over all the cable news channels, and the bobbleheads will be gushing over her for days.

They'll just take two snippets of Obama's speech, and the talking heads will talk over him when they cover him. Then they'll cut into his coverage to cover a dead white woman.

The only way to get Obama's speech will be on CSPAN.

aware that I haven't said any such thing. There are plenty of Clinton people who consistently insist that it's all over for Obama.
