Clinton's appearance on O'Reilly: A Big "Hello" to Big Red Indiana
I just watched it. Wow! O'Reilly blushed because she so outmatched his narcissistic ass. She was BRILLIANT!

You know what they say in Indiana: "I didn't vote Democratic last time, probably won't this time." (At least that's what they said on "The West Wing.") Indiana watches Fox News. Fox News featured Hillary Clinton and she mopped up. Her answer on health care was spot on, and she didn't flinch one bit from telling (little) Billy that he would pay more taxes in order to support the working and middle classes.

I thought O'Reilly's questions about Rev. Wright were puerile (in summary: "Ohmagah - that Rev. Wright. Isn't he, like, weird?"), and Clinton did an excellent job answering swiftly but not belaboring those points, moving quickly to gas prices.

Fox News is a propaganda tool for the Republican Party, and Hillary Clinton knows this. She knows that Indiana is watching, hence her appearance.

A brilliant move. A brilliant appearance with brilliant answers. I am so proud of my candidate. I wish we would stop looking this gift horse in the mouth and start seeing her for all the wonderful qualities she possesses.

:woohoo: Go Hillary Go! :woohoo:

2. Indiana has very large blue pockets...

While the state historically votes Republican in National elections, Democrats have a majority in the house and have held the governorships for most of the last 25 years or so.

That said, I don't think anyone should be sticking to Republican talking points here. Even the conservatives I've had conversations with are sick of Bush. And I certainly hope she doesn't share your condescending attitude toward Hoosiers.

4. Well, she did pull the ol, "We'll just have to let the voters decide"
Which is quite a subtle tactic...

It works great against questions like:

Is BO patriotic enough?

Does BO have enough experience to be president?

Does this controversy disqualify him from being president?

Is America ready for a black president?

Rather than simply stating a definate answer (harmful to a potential democratic candidate), she crafts an argument based on a logical fallacy (appeal to popularity). Infactual, inappropriate statements can be rendered 'true' if the majority of the voters decide it to be so, despite such questions being factually 'false'. When HC says, "we will let the voters decide" the truth of these assertations, questions and arguments against his candidacy, she is not only refusing the condemn their ridiculous nature, but also using an appeal to popularity to argue for their truth (in the long run, if the cards fall her way). When she says it with confidence, and that smirk, it therefore creates the expectation that the voters will decide in such a manner that is congruent to her campaign, and thus, she is answering the questions with a "no". Its all a great pattern to run against a potential democratic nominee.

Or maybe that is my take. But hell, we can take her word for it...you'll have to ask her. Perhaps she runs some subtle, dirty tactics when she should rather face down sterotypes and smash these questions (an integrity I could stand behind). But Ill let you all decide if its true that she does these shady thinks.

9. Not exactly.... (You are missing the point)
Questions can be fact based, and also, questions can be structured on false premises.

Whether or not the majority of the voters prefer one candidate or another, does not assign truths or falses to fact-based questions (or absurd right-wing rhetoric based questions). Even if 100% of voters believe in the positive truth of a question (and vote that way), it does not prove a statement to be true (appeal to popularity).

Truths and falses (and the absence of either based on faulty, shit-premise based questions) are not determined by the "popular vote".

HC suggestion that the "voters will decide" validates such questions and lets the voters assign a truth.

The "voters will decide" who they prefer most to be the nominee, but not "who is most patriotic".

Regardless, this argument has been backfiring for Hillary since Ive seen her use it (to avoid answering questions directly, but to answer them negatively in and indirect manner). But maybe her "automatic" delegates will decide to override the truths of the questions, as determined by the voters.

19. She was brilliant AND fearless. The 2 female Obama pundits handled themselves well
also. If we had seen more of their kind and less of the elitist KO-type misogynist venom, Obama might be a more attractive candidate today.

Bravo to Hillary for having the confidence to accept BillO's interview, and for having the agility to come out of the interview a real winner.

I checked the foxnews blogs after the interview -- Hillary definitely won many Rep hearts over.

7. In fact, this might hurt her - the Repubs are watching. They saw how strong she was.
They'll all be calling Rush tomorrow, begging him to change course on his Operation Chaos. I'll have to admit I heard a little of him today. He had a couple callers who were already asking him to change course: the Republicans are starting to realize (particularly post-Wrightgate) that Hillary could actually beat them. They want to run against Obama now.

16. I honestly can't understand..
.. how you cannot see that he was feeding her softballs to get her talking - and deliver the goods on Obama that he needed. He has no reason to make that interview confrontational. To them Hillary is their best McCain surrogate atm.

Take a good look at the O'Reilly in that interview - and how he normally acts. He was conceding points left and right, not interrupting to any discernable degree and not raising his voice. Biggest sugar trap I have seen in a long time.

I live in Indianapolis and I don't see Hillary signs. I don't see Hillary bumper stickers. I don't hear Hillary ads on the radio. I get mailers from Obama every other day, zip zilch nada from Hillary. And I sure as hell don't see Hillary ads on TV. And I sure the FUCK don't watch FOX. But hey, maybe they'd be willing to extend her some credit so she can kiss more republican ass.

I've looked that gift horse in the mouth and all I got was the ashes of the Constitution all over my face. Although I must admit, it took me a while to get her sheep costume out of the way.

Proud DINO's for Hillary. Go DINO's Go!!
