Saturday July 10, 2004--Senator Kerry now leads President Bush in the Rasmussen Reports Presidential Tracking Poll, 49% to 45%. Today's results reflect a five-point net gain for the Democrats since John Edwards was named as Kerry's running mate. In our last survey before the announcement, President Bush had a one-point edge, 47% to 46%.

Today is the first time since Kerry wrapped up the nomination that either candidate topped the 48% mark in our daily Tracking Poll. Prior to today, both candidates had stayed within three points of the 45% mark on every single night of polling for more than 120 days.

3. I think Al Queda wants Bush to win
Bush's invasion in Iraq got a lot of new recruits for Al Queda,
so I understand.

2. This is a relatively small bump compared to past years

when the VP was announced. However, since there are so few undecideds this year, that is a lot. If you look at this poll, there's only 6% left to be undecided and for Nader et al.

Its July and damn near everyone has made up their mind and is just sitting around waiting for November. If Kerry is going to open a lead and win, the moderate Republicans must come over and vote Kerry/Edwards. I think that will happen. So don't get pissed at Kerry if he takes what some would call Republican positions on some issues.
