14. What, that he's winning? That's not irony.
And other elected Dems tend to know who's got the coat-tails. It isn't Hillary.

42. ?
How is this any different then claiming other measuring sticks which have only symbolic value? ... the popular vote. "Big states". This is a typical Hillary talking point that's now being employed by Obama's camp, and a Hillary supporter complains? Contradict much?

6. Also, Obama's Senators are much more powerful:
Bingaman Endorses Obama (Analysis of Senate Support)
by optimist
Mon Apr 28, 2008 at 02:18:47 PM PDT
Sen. Bingaman (D-NM) backs Obama

Obama leads in Senate endorsements 15-14 now. Obama's 15 are much more influential and its not close.

optimist's diary :: ::
Obama(15):
Sen. Dick Durbin (IL) Majority Whip
Sen. Kent Conrad (ND) Chairman Budget
Sen. Chris Dodd (CT) Chairman Banking
Sen. Patrick Leahy (VT) Chairman Judiciary
Sen. Edward Kennedy (MA) Chairman Health/Labor
Sen. Jay Rockefeller (WV) Chairman Intelligence
Sen. Jeff Bingaman (NM) Chairman Resources
Sen. Byron Dorgan (ND) Chairman Dem. Policy Committee
Sen. Claire McCaskill (MO)
Sen. John Kerry (MA)
Sen. Ben Nelson (NE)
Sen. Tim Johnson (SD)
Sen. Amy Klobuchar (MN)
Sen. Russell Feingold (WI)
Sen. Bob Casey (PA)

Clinton (14 Senators):
Sen. Charles Schumer (NY) Chairman Senate Campaign Committee
Sen. Daniel Inouye (HI), Chairman Commerce
Sen. Barbara Boxer (CA) Chairman Environment
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (CA) Chairman Rules
Sen. Evan Bayh (IN)
Sen. Maria Cantwell (WA)
Sen. Blanche Lincoln (AK)
Sen. Bob Menendez (NJ)
Sen. Barbara Mikulski (MD)
Sen. Patty Murray (WA)
Sen. Bill Nelson (FL)
Sen. Mark Pryor (AK)
Sen. Debbie Stabenow (MI)
Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (RI)

Obama has the support of most of the Senate leadership. It is very telling. Only Reid, Biden, and Levin are outstanding amongst leadership senators. Byrd and Baucus are outstanding as well, but their influence is significantly smaller than these others.

It is obvious the leadership of the senate knows Obama will be the nominee and the favorite to be the next President.

It's a small margin, but significant. Even being close in this slice of the delegates is significant, given all of their additional exposure to Sen. Clinton. Their NOT siding with Clinton should be a big indicator of what her fellow Senators think about her claims of experience.

13. More Senate Committee Chairs support Obama
It’s an elite club inside the elite club that is the U.S. Senate — the chairman’s club. Only 19 senators — all in the majority party — can be chairmen of the 20 committees that direct legislation. They wield considerable influence in the law-making process and their word can go a long way.

They also are falling to Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton by a wide margin, currently 8-2. Democratic Energy Committee Chairman Jeff Bingaman of New Mexico is the latest to announce his backing for the Illinois senator in the Democratic presidential primary race.

-snip

Reid said Monday that in a recent chairman’s meeting, “five or six hands … went up” when he asked if anyone was still making up his mind about who to endorse. Reid said one member of the elite gathering told fellow attendees that his decision will be known very soon.

Bingaman said he was not the chairman to whom Reid was referring, so that leaves Sens. Max Baucus of Montana, head of the Finance Committee; Joe Biden of Delaware, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee; Tom Harkin Iowa, leader of the Agriculture Committee, Carl Levin of Michigan, who heads Armed Services; Herb Kohl of Wisconsin, chairman of the Aging panel; Daniel Akaka of Hawaii, who leads the Veterans Affairs panel.

-snip

Obama now has the following chairmen in his camp:
Bingaman (Energy)
North Dakota Sen. Kent Conrad (Budget)
Connecticut Sen. Christopher Dodd (Banking)
North Dakota Sen. Byron Dorgan (Indian Affairs)
Massachusetts Sen. Ted Kennedy (Health, Education, Labor and Pensions)
Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry (Small Business)
Vermont Sen. Patrick Leahy (Judiciary)
West Virginia Sen. Jay Rockefeller (Intelligence)

Clinton has two chairmen in her corner:
Hawaii Sen. Daniel Inouye (Commerce)
California Sen. Dianne Feinstein (Rules)

Kennedy, Leahy, Kerry, Durbin, and Dodd .... Combined with red state Democrats not wanting to run with HRC at the top of the ticket.

You have Schumer.

Western Wa went for Obama by a fair amount. It seems odd that Sen.s Murray, Cantwell and even Gov. Gregoire is at such odds with their prime base. I suspect that they have been gettin lots of letters calls and e-mails. Do you by any chance have a link to where you saw or heard that they could switch to the candidate with the most pledged delegates??? I want to pass it along to my chums in Tacoma

41. Take away the people who have to support her
and she really only has three.

The women have to support her because she's a woman, Schumer has no choice, neither do the Sens from Arkansas. Bayh desperately wants to be VP -- and may even have been promised the job. That doesn't leave a whole lot.

Hillary is once again denied. <snicker> How can this
keep happening? Doesn't everyone know that she was the front
runner? This wasn't supposed to happen like this! Looks like
it's time to cook up a fresh plan of attack a la
creationistas.
