Obama supporters: anyone else "feel" like it's over?
Strange to say, but as of today I no longer think it's a matter of 'if" but of "when". It serves the pundits' interest to continue the pretense of a horserace. But pressure is builing for super-ds to decide, and I do not see how they can take it from the leader in elected delegates and popular vote. That's it. Done.

I feel a peculair calm I haven't felt in awhile. ANy other Obama supporters feel likewise?

4. I've know it was over for weeks.
Now somebody has to tell Hillary and her supporters. I have no idea why she's letting it drag on. She has to know it's over, too. All she seems to be doing now is causing as much damage to Obama's campaign as she can. Makes me wonder.

10. Yep. I heard the truth in the M$M, so I knew the end is near.
The reality has caught up to the smoke and mirrors. Finally, people are saying on the airwaves that it ain't gonna happen for HIllary.

It's long overdue. The Supers will flow in, and Hillary will concede. Believe it or not, that day will come. The speech is probably already written.

15. Honestly, I think it's been over since February
I would have loved for Obama to win on Super Tuesday but I knew at the time that this was wildly unlikely. But it was what put him ahead. After that Clinton's lead only remained because she had a lot of superdelegate endorsements before she went into the race. If we didn't have SDs I think she'd have bowed out a while ago.

16. It's over. I don't care if he doesn't win IN or NC or anything else.
At some point, the party has to embrace the delegate winner--a race that goes on and on will always produce varying results, shifts in momentum, swings in the polls, etc.--what a shame we don't have 80 states to keep this going until October! The voters and the SD's just have to come to grips with Obama as the nominee, and make their peace with it.

18. It was over after Obama won WISCONSIN!
We knew that even if Clinton won - Rhode Island, Ohio, Texas and Pennsylvania - it wouldn't matter! Obama won Vermont, Wyoming and Mississippi during that time.

Both candidates have very consistent constituencies. We have known what was going to happen. We just have to live through it. We knew we just had to make it through the 6 weeks and Penn Primary to get to North Carolina so the Supers can endorse Barack.

Ignore the hype and suspense on TV. The Clinton's only hope is based on this fake illusion of suspense re who will win.

55. That's an ugly rumor that will never materialize
He's got the numbers. He knows he has the nomination. And now Democratic party leaders are starting to step out to protect the Democratic best interests for the November election.

Hillary and her camp continue to attempt to bait him into losing his cool. The media talking heads challenge him to fight back. He really does not need to -- he's got the nomination. She can't challenge the raw numbers.

THIS PARTY WILL NOT ALLOW THE NOMINATION TO BE STOLEN FROM ITS FIRST MIXED RACIAL CANDIDATE WHO HAS ELECTED (AS IS HIS PREROGATIVE) TO REFER TO HIMSELF AS BLACK. THE CONSEQUENCES OF DOING SO WOULD DESTROY THE PARTY FOR DECADES.

Hillary is going through the motions in order to shore up her chances for future runs, rack in some sorely-needed funds to pay off her debts, angle for debates in order to get the free media time which she cannot afford to buy, build up her base further, and so on, and so on, and so on. She knows the sands of acquiring the Oval Office have slipped through her fingers this time -- and so she prepares for the next time.

It's over. And that's exactly why Barack Obama need not fight back against her outrageous attacks -- he just needs to maintain his cool.

Congratulations, President Barack Obama. You earned it. You deserve it.

Much of the National Campaign staff is at work ramping up the GE effort and stages.

No one believes Hillary has a chance. But the longer she fights, the more money we have to spend on her instead of in the general. Quite a favor to the underfunded McCain campaign

I just wish she wasn't doing things to assist the republican narrative against our candidate.

Lots of snippits from or about SD's this week... perhaps behind the scenes stuff being drip, drip, dripped out to put pressure HRC? Like, drop out now before we force you out of the race in a very public, embarrassing way. I am betting the closer we get to NC and Indiana, the more public rumblings we will hear thru leaks...cuz we all know HRC is not going to take the hint. It will probably take every single breathing SD to hold a joint news conference to say "DROP THE HELL OUT THE RACE....we ALL support Obama"

44. Just look at RealClearPolitics
The upper right hand corner synopsizes the important statistics of the Democratic primary race. Obama runs the table.

Total Delegates (Obama +134)
Pledged Delegates (Obama +156)
Popular Vote (Obama +1.7)
Popular Vote (w/FL) (Obama +.7)
National RCP Avg (Obama +9)
North Carolina (Obama +15.5)
Indiana (Obama +3)

Clinton doesn't lead in any category.

think the battle for the nomination is over.

Obama and his supporters need to refine his message to middle Americans, to the elderly, the poor, the working class Christians and Jews.

He needs to win them in November, in all states, (well maybe NOT AZ).

63. It's not over until the moment Hillary Clinton concedes
the race. Until then, she will try every move possible to get the nomination. We are seeing that right now with the statements about Michigan and Florida. While I doubt it will work, all she needs is a decision on Michigan and Florida to drag it to the convention in August. I've said time and time again, never underestimate her.

64. North Carolina Democrats will make Obama our nominee
And I'll be proud to canvass for him here tomorrow.

I think we'll actually beat expectations by turning out a lot of unlikely voters. Among active Democrats here in Durham, Obama leads by about 50%. It's probably lower among average folks who are not that interested in politics, but many of these have been activated. You see scads of Obama bumper stickers, yard signs and volunteers. Clinton's popularity here is so slight that when you see a Hillary sign, it's actually noteworthy.

What's more, our voting machines here are optical scan, 1005 paper ballot machines. The Huckabee Index will begin to get rather silly after NC. I hope, but very much doubt, that Senator Clinton has the grace to bow out after May 6.
