MSNBC Spin During PA Counts Made Me Feel Sick
Friends, I felt a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach last night watching the MSNBC spin-meisters during the PA vote counts.

The part that really stood out was one that involved Pat Buchanan, Terry McAuliffe, Joe Scarborough and Harold Ford, Jr. Scarborough was asking questions to Harold Ford about whether this represented a victory for Hillary, and Ford's answers were explosively positive. This was a triumph for Hillary.

I was struck by how much this was about acting. These guys are amazingly good actors but also very evil, like magicians stretching reality. What scared me was how proficient they seemed.

They were practically shouting their views at one another, and I had the impression that they were operating within a particular "format" or delivery-style that MSNBC had specified from above. They were goddamn experts at this style. It had everything to do with keeping the viewer's interest.

Rachael Maddow was there but during the most heated spinexchanges, she was almost unable to get a single word in edgewise.

Did anyone see this, and do you have any observations on this crazy segment?

3. you are right - don't watch that sh*t!
Bottom line is this: Hillary did not win by "double digits" as was being broadcast last night. It was 9.4 pts. (likely less is my belief).

2. Yes, in fact
I had started the MSNBC Watcher thread last night on GDP b/c I was transfixed by the BS. Of course, I thnk we should have a CNN, MSNBC, and Faux Forum where posters can be updated cross-network and comment on the lies, acting, and arrant fools who inhabit these networks.

4. I saw it. It's ridiculous. Hillary is being propped up by Republicans and the DLC only at this point
There is no chance for her to obtain the nomination but she is too blinded by greed and ambition to see it.

6.  Pat Buchanan is being completely disingenuious
He doesn't believe a word he's saying and you can tell. He's completely working for Clinton and trying to keep her in the race and cast as much doubt on Obama as possible. The man is pure evil. I never liked him, but I didn't really *hate* him until the Rev. Wright stuff and his ludicrious comments and pure ignorance and racism.

I don't begrudge honest conservatives who are honestly giving their conservative opinion, but when they're meer operatives, you can forget it.

Anyway, except on election day, whenever he comes on, I turn the damned TV off.

David

7. I Was Going To Say: Pat and Joe Must be Operation Chaos...
And they're inteacting with DLC. It's like they're all on the same team but for different reasons. It was funny too, at a certain point Keith came back and said let's get a break from Spin-Syl-Vania or something like that.

8. Keith O did do a good job
during portions of it, in my opinion. At one particular point Joe S. kept asking "Why can't he close the deal?" in his best whiney baby voice, and Keith said "look at the trajectories, everytime Obama gets to a state his numbers always go up, and Hillary's go down." He even used his hands to illustrate the point and that shut him up for a minute. :p

10. Pat and Joe are the worst..
Pat Buchanan accusing Barack of whining, in his best whining voice, only at a higher frequency. Gotta love it.

11. I saw it - you are dead on accurate! Has been obvious on for some time>>
Hillary doesn't need to adverstise because MSNBC and CNN and Fox (except Olbermann and Cafferty) have promoted and exhaulted Hillary to beyond shameful proportions. It's truly amazing tha Obama has done as well has he has when he has the powerful Clinton machine, the Repugs, and the media pounding away at him. It truly makes me ill to see such blatant and obvious spin. Hillary was the "Cohsen One" a long time ago; and they're in a panic that Obama is threatening her positioning on the throne. I am very afraid that they (media, Clintons, and Repugs) will steal this election too!

13. Joe kept
making stuff up as he talked. One time he said Obama outspent her 4 to 1. Then later said 6 to 1.

It was like he was telling a story on how big a fish he caught.

14. Did you just start watching the talking heads?? It's been that way forever.
a big fat mess. It's best not to watch that crap when your candidate isn't doing too well - they all jump on the bandwagon of the "winner."

15. I gave up on the M$M the dayWellstone's plane went down and Blitzer
Ran onto the airfield, shoved the quite professional local newsreporter away from the mike, and began spinning the story.

She had been saying that the weather was rather typical for a MN early winter day, and that the crash had nothing to do with the weather.

He began a rant on how the plane had crashed because of the horrible weather.

That was it for me.
