Shouldn't we look at any "breaking news" with a critical eye?
Edited on Fri Apr-18-08 07:37 PM by Skwmom
Because of the upcoming PA primary, upon hearing any breaking news I wonder - "does this hurt or help Clinton?" Would it benefit Clinton to release/push this issue?

For example, can she use the "Hillary Slams Dem Activists" to paint herself as the victim of the "extreme" left? Would this help her in PA? Secondly, the Canada NAFTA story, doesn't it portray Democrats (and by inference Clinton) as worried about trade with Mexico and China (though Clinton worried about free trade and the loss of American jobs is laughable). I can't see the Clinton giving up their millions in paid speeches (public bribes) for selling out the working class of this country.

On edit: I remember the NH primary and all of the Hillary as a victim hoopla(Murdoch's papers saying "She's So Yesterday,", She's in a Panic, and Bill rambling about how he couldn't make her taller, or younger or a male. I think it was orchestrated to get her the sympathy vote - and it worked (and is why Bill claimed he is responsible for her victory in NH). So for PA instead of a direct attack on Obama, it might be another manipulative ploy to get her the sympathy vote and/or moderate/conservative vote (she's being attacked by the extreme left).

3. It's a public bribe. Instead of getting the money delivered in a suitcase, he
delivers a speech and receives hundreds of thousands, millions in return. There needs to be a law against this.

2. That's my Kos diary!
I hesitated a little before posting it, and I did try to clarify that Blanchard might have only been talking about Canada, but the article said he did downplay her desire to renegotiate it, and it seemed hypocritical after the way she went after Obama over Gouldsbee, so I thought it was fair.
