How the voters could have re-elected this clown is mind boggling.

Lieberman might address GOP convention
Posted: 09:38 AM ET

(CNN) — Sen. Joe Lieberman — the Democratic vice presidential nominee in 2000 — is willing to address the Republican National Convention if it will help Sen. John McCain win in November, his office confirms to CNN.

In an interview published Tuesday night, the independent Connecticut senator told The Hill newspaper that “If Sen. McCain, who I support so strongly, asked me to do it, if he thinks it will help him, I will.”

Lieberman, who lost his Democratic superdelegate status when he was re-elected to the Senate as an independent, endorsed the Arizona senator earlier this year and has actively campaigned for the presumptive GOP nominee.

McCain has not yet asked Lieberman if he would address the Republican nominating convention in September.

2. Lieberman is one reason we MUST elect more Democratic Senators
Don't forget our Senate races this year. We must replace as many GOP Senators with Democratic ones in order to complete neuter Lieberman's position.

Let him address the GOP convention (although I'm not sure McCain will profit by it) but keep him in mind and go out and help your Democratic Senate candidates!

4. You expect they won't.
Might be a good idea to let Lieberman stand by McCain's side when McCain gives the acceptance speech. Lieberman can wisper sweet notings into McCains ear. Wonder if Lieberman thinks McCains lips are sweeter than GW BUsh's. ?

5. this might be a stupid question but....
does liberman take the republican conservative stand on all issues or is he a one trick pony whose only concern is the war? does his love of isreal overtake his possible democratic sensibilities on everything else?

10. Last I checked his tracking stats.
His voting record by Labor polling organizations gave the jerk very high ratings. On economic issues he also supports labor. He is still a social conservative and has much in common with the fundies. And we all know about the war and security issues. He is obsessed.

9. Federal officials can't be recalled
Edited on Thu Apr-17-08 10:29 AM by cyclezealot
only of state officials, when that state's constitution allows. Sure wish it were so. Besides if he were some how recalled, the states' governor is a Repuk. But, then a Republican such as Lowell Weicker might be an improvement.

11. I think it will further alienate the right wing base.
They still remember this as the Kerry running mate, so he's no rabid right wing foaming at the mouth conservative and it will further point out to them that the McCain agenda is to move to the center, which pisses them off to no end. Instead of pandering to the rabid red meat eaters, trotting out Lieberman can only furhter create a schism in the rethug ranks.

BRING IT ON.

18. How? Bill Clinton on LKL right before election told Conn voters how LUCKY they were
that they wouldn't lose by voting for either candidate - though Ned Lamont was the ONLY Democrat in the race.

That's why.

Just imagine all the casual voters in Conn thinking, "...well, if Bill Clinton thinks it's OK to vote Lieberman....."
