Today's foreshadowing: from CBS News' Dante Higgins:
John McCain says Barack Obama is “truly out of touch” and suggests he should apologize for his remarks about small-town Americans.

After breaking his silence on Barack Obama’s remarks about small town Americans this morning, McCain continues to go after his rival for not repudiating his comments.

“I think it may be defining because it shows a fundamental attitude about the heartland of America,” McCain said to reporters on his campaign plane this evening. “I think it's pretty important. And the fact that he continues to say that he does not apologize for those remarks, I think indicates a certain out-of-touch elitism.”

Or if you prefer, Senator 'Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly?'

Let's have a 'quotes you should apologize for' contest.

Obama would kick yer ass at that, just like he's gonna kick yer ass in the GE.

6. When we get to the general election, small town America will realize
who is out of touch. McCain wants to keep the war going while the vast majority of Americans don't. He wants to keep trade agreements on track which means even more outsourced jobs. He wants to eliminate an employer's tax deduction for health insurance for employees which means most people will be in the "can't afford insurance line" right behind me. As of today, McCain is trying to buy voters with a 20% reduction in gas prices for the summer. The 20% is achieved by doing away with federal taxes. He fails to mention where the money is going to come from for bridges and highways when the tax is removed. And, of course, he's also flip flopped and now wants to keep tax cuts for fat cats in place. Charge 'em up on the Chinese Visa.
