Gephardt's career is over.
If there is ANYONE out there who seriously wants Gephardt as VP, let me know. I think it's way too much of a stretch.

I want only MY favorites to win ... If I dont get my way: I will not be excited or thrilled ...

Gephardt is a failure, because he doesnt make me get all goosebumply ...

Dont you HATE when that happens ??? ...

I dont care about my nation ..

I dont care about my family ...

I dont care about the future of the world ...

ALL I CARE ABOUT IS THAT I GET A THRILL FROM THE SELECTED VP ...

</extreme sarcasm>

( I REALLY love these 'How I dislike Gephardt because he doesnt get me all excited threads ... As if getting rid of the fratboy and the imperialists isnt enough ) ...

5. Gephardt
He's a great man and has served the country well. Personally, I don't want him as the VP candidate, but I won't be overly dissapointed. This coming from someone who was just rated as a radical on one of those political tests.

Check this photo, subtitled:

"Dick Gephardt siding with the president over Iraq"

.
It's not about eyebrows, or goosebumps. It's about siding with Bush.

16. Exactly!
I heard a former County Dem Party chair in my home say he was a Gephardt supporter until he started "pimping the war in Iraq for George Bush." This was a blue-collar union guy all the way. I used to like Gephardt but he compromised himself too much a long time ago.

9. I just want to win
I don't think Gephardt gives any winning oomph to the ticket, but if the Kerry camp thinks he does..then, alright, I'm there.

10. I doubt his career is over
He'll likely either be VP or have some position in the Cabinet.

His career in Congress is probably over.

11. If he gets picked...
His career really will be over, because democrats will sleep through the election, lefties will bolt for Nader, and the ticket will crumble under the weight of two ponderous career politicians. I can hardly imagine a more unappealing combination.

I guess it would be better than Lieberman and Z. Miller

13. we on DU may think he is a has been
but obviously Kerry doesn't think so or else he wouldn't be spending so much time both vetting and meeting with him as VP. I also think he is probably going to get the nomination for VP.

If not on ticket as VP, he will almost certainly get cabinet position, likely labor. Assuming Kerry wins, that is.

If Kerry looses, then Gep will indeed likey be absent in political life for at least 4 years.
