BREAKING: New MI GE poll Obama wins...42-37 Hillary loses.45-37
Obama 42 McCain 37
McCain 45 Clinton 37

FOX 2 Political Analyst Tim Skubick has more.
New polling data from EPIC-MRA suggests Barack Obama would win in Michigan, including Detroit and the outstate region, but Hillary Clinton would lose to John McCain if she received the nomination.

I believe this puts a big dent in the "Hillary is the only one who can win in MI" argument.

3. If Hillary can't win Michigan, a state that shouldn't even be in play, no way to win.
She'll have rough sledding in Penn, Wis. and N. Hamp. And forget about Ohio, Florida, Iowa, Nevada etc.

8. She's going to lose Illinois too.
According to HRC math, and state that you carry in the primary is also automatically carried in the general. Since HRC lost IL in the primary, then she'll lose it in the general.

The Democrats cannot win an election without carrying Illinois. Hillary Clinton will be crushed.

10. Well, not really. "Fox News" is a cable station. This is a local broadcast TV station.

WJBK was, for decades, the local CBS affiliate in Detroit. It's now a Fox affiliate (and yes, part of News Corp) - one of the on-air single-digit channel broadcast stations. The (new) CBS affiliate is a UHF station.

7. It's a no brainer--We are really bitter and angry here in MI!!
Bitter, unemployed or underemployed. You can make as much at some McDonalds outlets as you would for a supplier to GM these days...

Op-Ed: GOP may take state

BY JACK LESSENBERRY
Columnist

DETROIT -- Practically speaking, Republicans should have no chance to carry Michigan in the presidential race this November.

But they just might -- thanks to the arrogant and incompetent bumbling of the Michigan Democratic Party, which has effectively disenfranchised its voters, and repeatedly refused to fix the problem.

The Republicans shouldn't have a chance here in November. The state has the highest unemployment rate (7.2 percent) in the nation, and things are expected to get worse.

Once a swing state, Michigan has been trending more and more Democratic, rejecting George W. Bush twice.

U.S. Sen. John McCain of Arizona, the now-certain GOP nominee, is not strong on economic issues -- and in Michigan these days, it's all about economic issues.

In the increasingly unlikely event that Sen. Hillary Clinton is the nominee, his chances of winning would be especially great, given the special insensitivity state Democrats -- mainly, National Committeewoman Debbie Dingell, longtime Party Chairman Mark Brewer and Gov. Jennifer Granholm -- have shown this year to black voters.

Thanks to a series of bone-headed decisions by the state party establishment, Michigan will be the only state in the nation where nobody was ever allowed to cast a primary or caucus vote for Barack Obama, now the clear favorite to win the nomination.

If you think that is bad, it gets worse.

20. Republicans are practically crawling bare-kneed on broken glass begging
to have Hillary be the candidate for McCain to run against. Today, from Scarborough through all the RW pundits, they were just speaking glowingly of Hillary. OMG, do you Hillary supporters really believe they are going to just come on over and sing "Kumbaya" with Hillary? Do you really think they are going to knock back shots with her and McCain will behave collegially with Hillary while he grins like a crocodile? After she has bastardized every liberal idea and sold the party down the line for a mess of pottage, come back and tell us all about how she will change America. Tell us all how much you like the Democratic version of the Republican party.
