Liberal Elite Determined to Destroy Hillary Clinton
"Do They Hate Clinton More Than They Care About The Party?

Big Tent Democrat of TalkLeft posed a not entirely rhetorical question asking if the A-list Blogger Boyz (poster child – Josh Marshall of TPM) hate Hillary Clinton so much that they would destroy the party to guarantee her defeat.

Well, duh, of course they would. It’s what they are doing right now. Then they will deploy the excuse used by domestic abusers around the world – you made me treat you like this - to justify the violence done to both.

But this is not an interesting question. I have written for years (since before the 2006 elections) that the “netroots” is not that liberal nor is it a trustworthy political partner to Democrats, so I am 100% unsurprised by what I’m seeing now.

If you had been reading my blog all along, you would have known this as well. These guys are easy to explain.

They are made up of the demographic most likely to support Obama (young, white, male, college educated, usually with some graduate school, and with enormous upper-middle class earnings/earning potential).

These are people for whom political choices rarely have immediate life altering consequences for them. In the case of the Blogger Boyz, they have hitched their wagons to Obama’s star in a very public way.

If he fails, he takes them and their credibility with him. Their problems with powerful women I have discussed in greater depth elsewhere.

The interesting question is why people like Howard Dean appear willing to destroy the Democratic Party rather than permit a Clinton victory. What’s up with the party power brokers? "

1. I think "destroy" is histrionic. The wrong word. Which is not to say that
I would personally refuse to help the Clintons pack the U-haul.

They've had their run and this Democrat want a new crew in charge.

4. It's that Rovian tactic of projecting what you are doing onto others.
HRC and her supporters have mastered it.

3. This person is belittling the experience of DV victims by comparing Clinton to them.
This is as disgusting as the "gang rape" analogy made by the NY NOW president.

Not getting the Democratic nomination she feels she was entitled to handed to her does not equate with being terrorized by an abuser. Sorry, it just doesn't.

God in heaven. Nobody has worked harder than Hillary to win a nomination. Her wonkism is legendary.

13. I think it's possible to be wonkish and feel entitled at the same time.
And Dick Cheney has worked pretty hard too.

As for the Clintons and their followers, the entitlement attitude drips off of them. It's why Carville can call Bill Richardson a "Judas" with a straight face.

5. "Permit" a Clinton victory? Maybe she ought to earn one.
"These are people for whom political choices rarely have immediate life altering consequences for them." Bull.

This article is a load of crap. And I resent the "easy to explain" slur, given that I have fought for progressive causes since working for Gene McCarthy back in high school in 1968.

7. PA. White women begin to turn away from Clinton
LEVITTOWN, Pa. — Like many women over 50, Paula Houwen was eager to vote for Hillary Clinton for president.

"I was impressed when she was first lady. She wasn't the country's trophy wife," the 56-year-old suburban Philadelphia pharmacist recalled.

Today, though, Houwen's no longer a Clinton fan.

"I do not like the way Hillary Clinton has run her campaign," she said.

Clinton's strongest core of support — white women — is beginning to erode in Pennsylvania, the site of the critical April 22 Democratic presidential primary, and a loss here could effectively end her White House run.

A Quinnipiac University survey taken April 3-6 in Pennsylvania found that Clinton's support fell 6 percentage points in a week among white women. Nationally, a Lifetime Networks poll of women found that 26 percent said they liked Clinton less now than in January, while only 15 percent said they liked her more.

"These are Democratic women who waited all their lives for a woman president, but Hillary is not turning them on," said polling analyst Clay Richards.

16. It's not Dean et al who are deciding this thing, its the voters.
Remember us? The ones who supposedly decide who gets to be prez. We voted Hillary off the island, not Dean, not Josh, not Josh Marshall (????? really, I thought he'd done a good job of remaining neutral until Hillary self destructed with Bosnia, Wright, bittergate)

You know, the anti feminist thing only goes so far and when you're running against a black? Much harder to pull off without looking like you are playing the "poor me" card.

TalkLeft is the one who is losing his (her, there?) credibility. "PERMIT A CLINTON VICTORY"?????? Who the hell is he kidding???????????????????????

Why does Hillary Clinton appear to be willing to destroy the Democratic Party rather than permit an Obama victory? She can't win, not with fewer delegates won; anyone who seriously asks why Dean et al are 'not willing to permit a Clinton victory' is NOT a part of the reality-based community. What the real question is, is 'why are Dean et al unwilling to hand Hillary the nomination despite a certain deficit in total delegate number and a likely deficit in votes received?' The answer to that is an obvious one to anyone with a functioning brain.

You Obama supporters want her to give it to him. Anyone with a functioning brain should that her quiting to give him the nomination is not a winner. That's winning by default.

25. the anger is not about gifts
It's about the way she is campaigning. Apparently unable to campaign with a theme "I would make a better President than Obama" or better yet "my policies are better than Obama's", she seems determined to campaign on the theme "he's a horrible person and would make a horrible President, and he doesn't even have any policies". Campaigning in such a way as to tarnish the eventual nominee.

23. A simple answer
This question of if the Obama or Clinton supporters are
going to kill the party is a contrived, forced option
question. It really is the struggle between long term
special interest funders and manipulators to see if the
still have the power to over rule a grassroots electorate
funded candidate and steer the elections to suit themselves.

Will the DLC stick to their special interest funded platform
of how to convert the Democratic party at large into what
they wish it to be, even if it destroys their target
organization?

The real question is if the Democratic Party is under the
direction and control of the DLC hierarchy, and the woman
versus African American slant is a cover story for them.

31. The Nominee Will Be Chosen by The Convention
That is the way it is supposed to be. That is the way it always has been.

We are a point and click, TV bred electorate with a demand for instant gratification, but our institutions, fortunately, change slowly and with caution.

Let the process work itself out. The system is not perfect, but it is good enough.
