Jon Stewart Awards Obama "Dick Move of the Week"
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/04/09/jon-stewart-awards-obama_n_95875.html

Last night on "The Daily Show" host Jon Stewart unveiled a new feature: The "Dick Move of the Week" (presumably a recurring segment). "As the race wears on, you're going to start to see the campaigns behaving a little bit more aggressively, trying to score points on the other guy," said Stewart. "But there is a very fine line between an aggressive move and what Beltway insiders refer to as — a bit of a dick move." See why the Obama campaign got the nod below:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/04/09/jon-stewart-awards-obama_n_95875.html

It's the second time that Stewart has implied that Obama was a dick — the first was on March 3, 2008, when, in a rundown of candidate swipes at each other, he observed that Obama "seems like he might be kind of a dicky boyfriend." Watch it below:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/04/09/jon-stewart-awards-obama_n_95875.html

Note that March 3rd was the night before Super Tuesday II — and also the night that Stewart hosted Clinton for an interview live via satellite. Coincidence? Or yet another example of the comedy conspiracy against Barack Obama? Debate and discuss in the comment sections below — feel free to post links to your favorite totally biased "Daily Show" and "SNL" segments so we can all watch and decide for ourselves.

1. He's probably a Clinton supporter. But they also like to cut down the front-runner
It's just not as funny to make fun of the people who are losing.

36. Colbert the comedian or Colbert the character he plays on TV?
Colbert the character is obviously for John McCain. Colbert the comedian says he likes to keep his views to himself.

3. I like Jon but that was just smart politicing
I have noticed Jon actually reaching to show dirt on Obama, Hillary writes her own but he's hesitant to show it. Either way, their stuff is satirical and they make an effort to hit everyone so I don't put much stock into it.

6. hmm.
It's funny because it's true.

Politically active students trying to choose between Bill Clinton and free concert tickets, I suppose you could argue that Bill Clinton is one for disturbing the chance of students to get tickets, but i think his schedule was probably less flexible.

31. Not as much as those who market Obama. But I'm sure Hallmark does.
I'm surprised you actually used the word, considering that pretty much describes his campaign - blank slate, Hope, Change. Obama is whatever you want him to be. And he's COOL! Brilliant marketing I must say. The one's behind it will definitely have a future with some credit card or drug company, coming up with the next happy family or huge, luminescent butterfly.

42. You're surprised I used the word "marketing" when talking about campaign strategies?
Maybe that explains some things...

I disagree with your characterization of Obama as a candidate with no real substance, but it's naive...and, frankly, silly...to treat marketing as a negative in a political campaign.

47. Yes, and try to keep your condescension in check, pls.
I don't think it naive or silly to say a campaign for president should center more around ideas than what amounts to a manipulative campaign stunt that could be seen as bribery or vote buying.

If all you got is talking down to me, then please, feel free to go talk down to someone else.

And unfortunately, that's what you're doing Mercutio. Skip Intro isn't interested in discussing the dynamics of the race, he/she just wants to smear Obama. Nothing else matters.

I give you kudos for trying, though. :)

12. Did any of you watch the clips? It wasn't an attack by Stewart at all.
Obama won "Dick Move of the Week" because he gave away free Dave Matthews tickets at a campus...during a Bill Clinton speech.

The "dick" label was tongue-in-cheek (yes, those words should probably not be in the same sentence together).

30. Thanks, Mercutio..I didn't wanna
see Jon Stewart dissin' Obama but I got from a post that it might be about the Dave Matthews tickets which wasn't even Obama's doing.

I feel much better 'cause some of us "Amercians" just got told by elton john at his concert that basically those who don't support hilary are misogynistic ..

"Elton John was a bit edgier:

"I never cease to be amazed at the misogynist attitude of some of the people in this country," he said. "I say to hell with them."
