I've lost interest
I know somebody is going to win.
I've survived good and bad presidents.
No matter who wins I will be fine.

I'm starting to think it doesn't matter.
The president doesn't have the ability to put the USA into the ditch.
No matter how inept.

1. YOU'LL be fine.
Well, good for you.

The president doesn't have the ability to put the USA into the ditch.

Sure he/she does. Does he/she usually do it by him/herself? No.

2. Zen.
Let's lose interest in life or death, neither has the ability to put us into the ditch.

We are here in a mindless celebration of nothing. Never forget that please.

3. Respectfully disagree.
The past seven years provide evidence of what a bad president can do. A president can, by the nature of the office, do serious harm to the nation.

A really good president can make minor adjustments that improve some things in some ereas.

We need an extraordinary president.

4. Devastating Supreme Court nominees equals puting the
"USA into the ditch."

It does matter, actually.

6. With a veto proof Senate, we can mitigate that.
And if President Popeye is our fate, perhaps he'll play the Maverick and give the Senate a decent Supreme Court justice in exchange for some piece of bullshit legislation he wants.

All he needs to do is find some closet liberal justice who knows how to say "I don't intend to legislate from the bench."

So long as it isn't War With Iran in exchange for a decent justice....
