Does anyone else remember when trollish flamebait was called out for being trollish flamebait?

Am I losing it or did it used to be that when obvious disruptors posted obvious disruption, it was mocked and ridiculed, and the troll was sent scurrying back to their bridge?

Now it seems that whenever I click on a 'hot' thread, half the responses are from people who have less than 1,000 posts, have been here for a month or so, and are being held up as model representative of the supporters of one or the other candidates.

Now, I was used to seeing them travel in pairs: you know, one lies and the other swears to it. But now I see a lot of that crap from people who (one would think, at least) have been around here long enough to know better.

Someone with 12 posts writes 'Hillary shot MLK on Obama's birthday with McCain's Vietnam service piece' and some long-time DU'er posts 'typical Kool-Aid drinker and their manufactured outrage' in response.

Or someone with 1000 posts in the last 2 days writes 'Obama's camp blames his grandmother for his low bowling scores' and some long-time DU'er posts 'Well, there's another shrill for Hill.'

WTF is that?

Though of course when I pointed this fact out and warned DUers to be on the alert for new members dumping gasolene on the flame wars, I was accused of being biased against new posters.

There's a post on the front page of the GD:P that keeps getting kicked up. It has more *replies* than the OP has posts. I have milk in the fridge that's been there longer than the poster. And it's *not the only one*! :bangs head against the wall:

And yes, I alert on trollish flamebait from either side of
the current political divide.

Say anything you like if you have some facts or at least
some logically-consistent argumentation to back it up.
But if one posts juvenile, purile flamebait, I alert on
it right away.
