3. Don't count your chickens
1 or 2 polls could be deceptive, and there are almost 3 weeks to go yet. Realistically, I'm expecting a close result like in TX.

But if he does get lucky (very lucky) and win PA, then I'd say the argument is pretty much settled.

17. it won't be over until Obama
shows he can win either OH or FL or both ... until then, the super delegates will not go with him and allow McCain to waltz into the White House with little to no effort.

It's about taking the White House and the General Election is not a caucus ... Obama has to prove himself.

You think they're all going to change their mind at the last minute? Not very likely. Sure, it's possible that something awful could happen Obama's campaign, but equally Hillary might melt down on national TV and start doing the chicken dance. Neither possibility seems especially probable.

Diffcult to say she will loose PA. Odds don't point that way. Keep Clinton's win within single digits and keep the delegate count adding up.

15. She is irrelvant
If Obama keeps this to single digits -- when it started with a 25-point spread, Superdelegates will be coming out daily. TX was supposed to be tailor made for Clinton with the strong Latino vote. Of all the remaining contests, PA was the one everybody has identified as being a big advantage for Clinton, with a lot of lower demographic whites.

Remember, a large number of the uncommitted supers are seasoned politicians who have been through campaigns themselves. They will understand the picture. A lot of them have deferred to Bill, allowing Hillary one last chance to get back in the game with a big win in PA. If she doesn't score big, a lot of them will say "that's enough".

69. It is a spectrum.
If Obama wins, the whole Clinton insurgence implodes, and quickly -- within 48 hours.

I don't expect Obama will win PA. I expect he'll lose by about 8%. At anything less than a real whuppin' by Hillary (say, great than 20%), a substantial number of Supers will come out for Obama, enough to make it clear to the Clintons that they are not going to pull this out.

23. I doubt if she will withdraw if she loses PA,
but a PA loss would make it quite clear to the super delegates that for all practical purposes it's over, and the undecideds would probably go over to Obama's side en masse.

Then after that, anything that Clinton does will be irrelevant.

32. You're gonna be surprised by McCain in California ...
Edited on Wed Apr-02-08 11:20 PM by JorgeTheGood
he's gonna be strong in all the military areas ...

Air Force bases ... Beale, March, Vandenberg, Travis, Edwards
Marine bases ...Pendleton, Miramar, 29 palms, et al
Navy bases ... the many naval instalations in the San Diego area (probably the 2nd largest in the country -- make that in the world) along with China Lake and some smaller facilities like El Centro.

He will take the staunch-red areas ... Orange County, all of the San Diego area (partially mention) and the San Diego north suburbs up to Escondido and possibly into the Temecula area and on to the Riverside area (3rd fasting growing county in the country behind Maricopa and Clark)...

He will easily take the valley areas ... Central, Imperial and San Joaquin which represents the agricultural areas reaching 500 miles in length and 100 miles wide.

In a nutshell, he will take every inch of CA with the exception of Los Angeles county, The Bay area (San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose) and most of the northern coast up to the Oregon border with a few spotty counties inland like sonoma (Santa Rosa, Petaluma, Rohnert Park ... )

Another area where he will be really strong with the retirees ... Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, La Quinta areas just west of Riverside and Beaumont.

And he will be big with the hispanics ... simply because Obama will not.

Taking CA for granted in '08 is beyond foolish -- more than likely McCain will win CA comfortably.

3 weeks can see Obama winning the state. However, Clinton knows this and knows that if she loses the state she has zero chance at ever convincing the supers to sway in her favor.

So everyone I hope you are ready for another 3AM type ad or some scandal to surface on Obama just before it is time.

So let us work like Clinton leads by 20 and we want to turn it into a win! Because it may well be that way!
