Obama Supporters Why Hillary staying in the race is good right now
Ok,

It might have been easier but Hillary being in the race right now is not a total bad thing. Here is my main reason why.

In every state Obama campaigns in he builds a team of volunteers who are committed to making him President. These teams don't disapear after the primaries are over. They may not meet as much but they are still together. These teams are not only in Blue state but toss up states and red states. These teams will work hard to get the vote out for Barack in the General Election.

If these teams start working at a normal pace in July, they will be identifying Obama supporters for the General Election for November. By November the Campaign should almost know every one in this country who is planning on going out and voting for Barack. He'll know where to put resources and where not to put resources. He'll know which states he needs to spend more time in.
The data will be better than polling data because it will be actually names you can target to make sure they vote on election day.

We don't have to win that many red states. What we can do is make those states more competitive than McCain likes and make him spend time and money there because of our volunteers. If McCain has to invest money in Missisipi he's in trouble. We may not carry it but if we force him to spend a day there or have to send a campaign staff there to ensure he carrys it we take money away from him. We can do this on our volunteer strength and not have to use money. I don't know if that makes sense.

1. The main reason I don't mind it going all the way to Denver:
Think about how many people will be watching our convention! The ratings would be through the roof. They'd be playing it in sports bars! You can't buy that kind of coverage.
